An assembly for evaporating a volatile fluid is described, the assembly comprising a device and a refill which are detachable from one another: wherein the device comprises a magnetic induction coil configured to operate with an alternating current passed therethrough; and wherein the refill comprises a reservoir for the volatile fluid, a volatile fluid transport means to draw the fluid from the reservoir, and at least one susceptor arranged to heat the volatile fluid transport means when said alternating current is passed through the induction coil. Refills, devices and methods of operation are also described.

An assembly for evaporating a volatile material is described, the assembly comprising a device and a refill which are detachable from one another: wherein the device comprises a magnetic induction coil configured to operate with an alternating current passed therethrough at a frequency of between substantially 20 KHz to substantially 500 KHz; and wherein the refill comprises at least one magnetic susceptor having a coercivity of substantially 50 ampere/meter (H) to substantially 1500 ampere/meter (H) and a substantially liquid-tight sealed reservoir containing the volatile material; wherein, in use, the magnetic susceptor(s) is arranged to heat the material predominately by magnetic hysteresis when the magnetic susceptor(s) is at least partially positioned in the induced magnetic field generated, in use, when said alternating current is passed through the induction coil. Refills, devices and methods of use are also described.

Device for evaporating a volatile material

An assembly for evaporating a volatile fluid includes a device and a refill which are detachable from one another: wherein the device comprises a magnetic induction coil configured to operate with an alternating current passed therethrough at a frequency of between substantially 20 KHz to substantially 500 KHz; the refill comprises a fluid reservoir containing the volatile fluid, a wick and at least one magnetic susceptor arranged to heat the wick predominately by magnetic hysteresis when said alternating current is passed through the induction coil, wherein the magnetic susceptor has a coercivity of substantially 50 ampere/meter (H) to substantially 1500 ampere/meter (H). Refills, devices and methods of operation are also described.

The present invention describes a device for evaporating a volatile liquid from a container having a wick. The device includes a housing, a motion sensor, a first electrical heating element, and at least one of: a second electrical heating element; a fan; a region of increased heating capacity within the first electrical heating element. In use, the motion sensor is operable to detect motion in the vicinity of the device and, on detecting motion, the device operates to activate at least one of a second electrical heating element; a fan; a region of increased heating capacity within the first electrical heating element. The present invention also describes a method for evaporating the volatile liquid and a kit of parts for the same.

The present invention describes a universal refill containing a volatile liquid adapted for use with at least two different types of emanation device; wherein the universal refill comprises a housing; at least one reservoir in the housing for holding the volatile liquid; at least two valves in the housing in communication with the reservoir, wherein each of said valves is configured to be automatically resealable when not being held open; and wherein each type of device emanates the volatile liquid from the universal refill via a different mechanism to each other type of emanation device and wherein said at least two different types of emanation device each comprise a chassis configured to receive and releasably retain the universal refill.

Devices and methods for improved delivery of volatile liquids

An emanation device is described which comprises: a replaceable refill of liquid containing one or more active materials wherein the active material comprises at least one of: a fragrance; an insecticide; a fungicide; a pesticide; a sanitizing material; and/or a pharmaceutical; wherein the refill comprises a sealed reservoir containing said volatile liquid and a porous wick which extends from the interior of the reservoir to the exterior thereof; and wherein the device comprises: an air pump; a fluid conduit in fluid communication with the air pump such that, in use, air pumped by the pump will flow through the fluid conduit; a nozzle located at the end of the fluid conduit remote from the air pump; a ejector constriction provided in the fluid conduit adjacent or substantially adjacent the nozzle; a liquid conduit provided adjacent the ejector constriction and in fluid communication with the fluid conduit at one end thereof, and open at the other end to receive liquid therein; characterized in that the liquid conduit is located within the porous wick.

The present invention relates to a dispensing device for at least one air treatment agent comprising at least one airborne agent detector operable to detect airborne agents in the air; receiving means for receiving at least one source of air treatment agent; and control means for releasing an amount of at least one air treatment agent from a source thereof received in the receiving means when a current airborne agent level detected by the airborne agent detector deviates from a background airborne agent level detected by the airborne agent detector by more than a predetermined amount, wherein the background airborne agent level is calculated by the device. The present invention also relates to a method of dispensing at least one air treatment agent.

An air cleaner is described comprising a housing having an air inlet and an air exhaust extending therethrough, a refill for containing a reservoir of liquid which is releasable from the housing, a nebulizer within the housing configured, in use, to be in fluid contact with the source of liquid to generate a mist of liquid droplets, said nebulizer being configured, in use, to eject the mist upwardly, a chamber within the housing in which the mist is retained, a fan within the housing configured, in use, to generate a flow of air through the air inlet and into the chamber such that at least some of the contaminants in the air flow are urged by the mist out of the flow of air and toward the refill. A refill for the air cleaner is also described as well as the use of said air cleaner.
