An apparatus for cleaning a portion of a tubular member comprises a platform; a motor operatively connected to a shaft; a first sliding base driven by the shaft to revolve generally parallel to the platform; a first pinch thumb, including an outer surface, mounted onto the first sliding base to revolve with the first sliding base; a first pinch finger, including an outer surface, mounted onto the first sliding base; and an adjustable clamp arm adapted to secure a tubular member above the platform and adjacent the first sliding base; wherein, after the adjustable clamp arm secures the tubular member above the platform, the first sliding base revolves to urge the first pinch thumb to move radially outward to contact an inner diameter of the tubular member and the first pinch finger moves radially inward to contact an outer diameter of the tubular member.

A security rail attachment for a bed comprises a post with an adjustable foot at the lower end, a rail portion mounted within the post and rotatable about the vertical axis of the post and an attachment rail which extends across the end of the bed and includes clamping elements for clamping to angle irons along the sides of the bed. The rotatable rail portion can be latched at four 90.degree. spaced positions by notches in the base of a vertical post of the rail portion which cooperate with a transverse pin in the post. The rail portion can therefore project outwardly from the bed at right angles thereto for assisting the occupant in standing or can lie along the side of the bed to assist the occupant by preventing falling from that side of the bed.

Security rail attachment for a bed

A device for lifting and transporting a patient from a bed includes a base frame with ground wheels for rolling across the ground. The frame includes two parallel horizontal rails with each rail having a main fixed center wheel and castor wheels at forward and rearward ends of the rail. A post mounted on the frame can move vertically and carries a push bar. A seat is mounted on the post on a U-shape frame with the seat including a base and a back rest portion. The base is pivotally mounted on one leg of the U-shape member and the back rest can pivot and slide relative to the other leg of the U-shape. The U-shape support is mounted on the post so as to swivel about a vertical axis with the vertical axis also translating relative to the post to move the center of gravity of the patient from an initial lifting position to a transport position.
