In an embodiment, a multiple-antenna heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a first antenna disposed along a return airflow path from an enclosed space to the multiple-antenna HVAC system, where the multiple-antenna HVAC system supplies conditioned air to the enclosed space. The multiple-antenna HVAC system also includes a second antenna disposed outside the return airflow path. The multiple-antenna HVAC system also includes a controller in communication with the first antenna and the second antenna, where the controller wirelessly communicates via the first antenna and the second antenna.

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a control unit, a central controller coupled to the control unit via a first two-conductor wireline structure, and a plurality of HVAC system components coupled to the central controller via a second two-conductor wireline structure. The central controller is configured to receive, via the first two-conductor wireline structure, control information corresponding to an enclosed space, generate control data, and transmit, via the first two-conductor wireline structure, the control data to at least one of the plurality of HVAC system components to regulate operations thereof.

A thermostat includes a front housing, a rear housing interoperably coupled to the front housing, at least one sensor integrated with the front housing, a display integrated with the front housing, and processing circuitry interoperably coupled to the at least one sensor and the display. The display is a touch-screen display and is configured to demonstrate a user-interface screen. The user-interface screen comprises a horseshoe-shaped temperature scale, a heat set-point control, and a cool set-point control. The heat set-point control and the cool set-point control are positioned on the horseshoe-shaped temperature scale. The horseshoe-shaped temperature scale can be adjusted by dragging at least one of the heat set-point control and the cool set-point control along circumferential edges of the horseshoe-shaped temperature scale.

A monitoring system includes a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit, one or more sensors coupled to the HVAC unit, and a controller. The one or more sensors are operable to detect one or more properties associated with the HVAC unit. The controller is configured to receive the one or more properties from the one or more sensors and determine a first measurement associated with the HVAC unit based on the one or more properties.

System and method for monitoring an energy consuming appliance

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) communication method comprising generating, at a transmitter device, a primary signal and a secondary signal. Each of the signals comprise digital temperature data and digital humidity data. The secondary signal is a phase shifted representation of the primary signal. The HVAC communication method further comprises transmitting the primary signal and the secondary signal to a receiver device via a wireless link. The method continues by storing a look-up table that maps bit streams to temperature values and humidity values. The method continues by performing, at the receiver device, a comparison using the primary signal to execute error checking, and determining, at the receiver device, a temperature value and a humidity value using the look-up table based on the comparison.

This disclosure is directed to an electronic thermostat for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system that includes an electronic level feature and leveling register that allow the thermostat housing to be rotated about a mounting wall plate to place the thermostat housing in a leveled position. A home environment system includes a programmable thermostat and at least one server configured to communicate with the programmable thermostat via a wireless network. The at least one server is configured to receive information regarding work performed on at least one component of an HVAC system, generate a first report regarding the work performed, receive information regarding subsequent work performed on the at least one component of the HVAC system, generate a second report regarding the subsequent work performed, and perform a comparison between the first report and the second report. The at least one server is further configured to generate a comparison report that indicates differences between the first report and the second report and forward the generated comparison report to at least one of the programmable thermostat and at least one communication device.
