A retaining wall system, retaining wall panel, and method of constructing a retaining wall, wherein panels of the retaining wall define an arched or curved profile in plan view, for example following a catenary curvature, with the wall panel curvature being concave in a direction extending into the backfill area behind the retaining wall. The curvature resists backfill loading on the panel and evenly distributes the load across the panel without significant stress concentrations and transfers the load to posts or columns to which the panels are mounted.

Example embodiments of the invention generally relate to a dampening and impact absorption device including a first component, a second component, and at least one elastomeric element operatively coupled between the first component and the second component. Other example embodiments of the invention generally relate to a dampening and impact absorption system including one or more such dampening and impact absorption devices. In example applications, the dampening and impact absorption device is utilized to dampen and reduce impacts, forces and noise between the platform and anchor pilings of a floating dock system, for example resulting from wave action or other dynamic effects.

A marine structure including a floating deck attached to a damper configured to control the vertical movement of the deck. The damper allows vertical motion of the floating deck in response to gradual changes in water level such as tidal changes, but resists bouncing of the deck in response to shorter term fluctuations in water level such as boat wakes or wind chop.

A convertible capping system and methods of use thereof for capping a top portion of a sheet piling wall or other structure. A top panel of the capping system includes a widthwise spaced array of longitudinally extending parallel connection ribs, and defines an initial width at least equal to or greater than an intended final width, whereby a user can cut the top panel down to a desired final width corresponding to the thickness of the wall. A pair of side flanges have engagement features configured to attach to the connection ribs of the top panel after adjusting the width of the top panel, to assemble the capping system. A wave diverter and/or structural reinforcement system can optionally be provided with the convertible capping system or sheet piling wall.

A system, method and sealing components for resisting fluid transmission through an interlock joint between first and second sheet piling panels of a barrier assembly. A compressible sealing member is engaged between interlock members of the sheet piling panels as the barrier assembly is constructed. A dispersible sealant is optionally dispersed into the interlock joint upon compression of the sealing member.
