Methods, apparatus and systems for facilitating installation and/or replacement of linear lighting assemblies with linear light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires. In an embodiment, a system for installing a linear LED luminaire includes a suspension bracket having a connection feature for connection to a connection point, and an attachment portion for accepting a first distal end of a first linear LED luminaire. The system also includes a connecting bridge that includes a bridge housing, at least one aperture formed in the bridge housing, and at least one locking tab. The connecting bridge attaches to a second distal end of the first linear LED luminaire and enables secure mechanical and electrical connection between the first linear LED luminaire and a second LED luminaire.

In some embodiments, aspects of this disclosure provide a system including a reflector of a suspension lighting fixture, the reflector having a reflective underside and a top side; at least two ribs affixed to the top side of the reflector; and a tray base is attached between two adjacent ribs of the at least two ribs. A benefit is that a tray base (and other components attached thereto) may be efficiently positioned at various positions along the length of the reflector.

The device includes an engagement mechanism that allows the lighting fixture to be mounted within a recess of a substantially flat surface. The engagement mechanism is constructed to facilitate movement of a tension mechanism from a maximum tension position to a minimum tension position. Movement of the engagement mechanism is in response to an applied force generated by contact of the engagement mechanism with a first side of the substantially flat surface. Also provided is a method for mounting the lighting fixture using the engagement mechanism.

The specification and drawings present a new apparatus such as a lighting fixture and a method for replacing a light engine such as a LED light engine in the lighting fixture by replacing one part carrying the light engine, where the heat sink (e.g., extruded elongated heat sink) can be split into two parts, a replaceable part carrying the light engine and a fixed part. Both heat sink parts may be attached together with a clip to allow the unclipping and replacement of the removable part carrying the light engine. The geometry of the two heat sink parts can be designed in such a way that one part can be attached on top of the other, while providing a predefined alignment and continuous thermal conductivity between the two parts. A space between the two parts can be used to place the clip.

Provided is a connection housing including a first plate having a connecting member for slidably connecting the first plate to an electrical assembly. The first plate includes a ridge portion formed across a threading path. A second plate has an opening for non-slidably connecting the second plate to the electrical assembly. The second plate includes a valley portion positioned in opposing relation to the ridge portion. The first and second plates are configured for (i) facilitating placement of a wire along the threading path and (ii) folding onto each other to restrict movement of the wire after the folding.

The housing further includes an optical cover comprising a shell having a second opening, the second opening having a border surrounded by a second sealing portion. The optics are arranged to define a desired shape of an image and are configured so as to cause light distributed within the panel to exit a first planar surface of the panel.
