A secured article may include a tag set comprising a first tag and a second tag, each tag attached to the article. A secured article may include a disablement structure. A secured article may include attached to the article in physical proximity to the first tag. A secured article may include in electromagnetic relationship with the second tag. A secured article may include disabling operation of the second tag absent altering the electromagnetic relationship.

Multi-tag article securement

An electronic article surveillance ('EAS') tag for an EAS system, comprising an antenna, a radio frequency identification (“RFID”) chip configured to transmit and/or receive a wireless signal via the antenna; and a magnetically-actuatable switch configured to move between a first position and a second position. The switch is configured to electrically couple the RFID chip to the antenna in the first position. The switch is further configured to electrically decouple the RFID chip from the antenna in the second position.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) tag with deactivatable link

A communication system includes a first radio frequency identification (RFID) device coupled to a sensor that monitors a fire condition and a second RFID device. The first RFID device includes at least one first antenna that receives a fire detection signal from the sensor, and a processing circuit that causes the at least one first antenna to transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal corresponding to the fire detection signal through an internal volume of a pipe coupled to a fluid source. The second RFID device includes at least one second antenna that receives the RF signal through the internal volume of the pipe. The second RFID device controls operation of a fluid distribution device responsive to receiving the indication of the fire detection signal.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and systems for laser turning and attaching RFID tags to products. Such methods and systems may include a memory and a processor coupled to the memory. The methods and systems may include determining a characteristic of a conductive trace on a substrate to be incorporated into an item to configure a tag performance in view of at least one of a dielectric property or a tuning property of the item. The methods and systems may further include a laser to alter the conductive trace on the substrate to have the characteristic to define an antenna for the tag. The methods and systems may further include an attaching device configured to attach a communications enabled device to the substrate so as to form an electrical connection between the communications enabled device and the antenna to form the tag.

Systems and methods for laser tuning and attaching RFID tags to products

Examples described herein generally relate to a system for monitoring workers in a retail environment. The system may include a plurality of cameras located in different regions of the retail location and configured to capture a video feed of a respective region. The system may include a computer system comprising a memory storing computer executable instructions. The system may provide a video feed of at least one region of the retail environment to a machine learning classifier, the machine learning classifier trained on labeled videos, to classify a sequence of images of a worker into a probability certainty of an activity being performed by the worker. The processor may determine, based on the probability certainties generated by the machine learning classifier over a period of time, an activity schedule of the worker. The system may determine labor productivity statistics based on the activity schedule.

Methods and systems for monitoring workers in a retail environment

Systems and methods for integrating tags with items. The methods comprise: dynamically determining a length of each metal thread to be incorporated into or trace to be disposed on a item to optimize tag performance in view of dielectric and tuning properties of the item. In the metal thread scenarios, the methods also involve: creating a metal thread having the length that was dynamically determined; and sewing the metal thread into the item being produced to form an antenna for a first tag. In the trace scenarios, the methods also involve forming the trace on the item being produced to form an antenna for a first tag. Next, at least a communications enabled device is attached to the item so as to form an electrical coupling or connection between the communications enabled device and the at least one antenna.

Systems and methods for providing tags adapted to be incorporated with or in items

Managing foreign RFID tags within a secured area involves use of a first RFID portal system to read tag data from an RFID tag present within a first portal zone. A processing device associated with the first RFID portal system is used to determine whether the RFID tag is entering the secured area. The determination is based on an evaluation of a direction of travel of the RFID tag through the first portal zone. Responsive to determining that the RFID tag is in fact entering the secured area, one or more operations are performed to cause a first tag value corresponding to the tag data to be added into a safe to exit (STE) list.

Systems and methods for creating a data mapping to be used in a subsequent inventorying process to locate objects within an area. The methods comprise: identifying, by a robot, at least one first marker disposed within the area which should be re-programed; autonomously transforming, by the robot, a first programmed state of the at least one first marker to a second programmed state; and autonomously creating, by the robot, the data mapping specifying a current physical location of the at least one first marker which was re-programed and current physical locations of second markers also disposed within the area.

Aspects of the present disclosure includes a method of manufacturing a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, including connecting a first wire and a second wire across a chip, maintaining the spaced apart distance between the first wire and the second wire adjacent to each side of the chip to define a spaced apart segment of the first wire and the second wire that forms part of an inductive loop, connecting the first wire and the second wire at each side of the chip distal from and adjacent to the spaced apart segment of the first wire and the second wire to close the inductive loop, define connected wire segments, and to form an RFID assembly, and moving the RFID assembly through a casing material at or above a glass transition temperature of the casing material to encase the RFID assembly.

Methods and apparatuses for determining frequency response of a security tag

An RFID portal of an EAS system first interrogates a first zone extending into a controlled area beyond a threshold distance from an interrogating antenna of the portal. The portal defines an exit from the controlled area, the threshold distance being less than a width of the exit. The portal first detects, in response to the first interrogating, a first response of a particular RFID tag. The portal second interrogate, subsequent to the first detecting, in a second zone extending into the controlled area at least to the threshold distance. The portal second detects, in response to the second interrogating, at least one second response of the particular RFID tag indicating a received signal strength of the second interrogating at the particular RFID tag corresponding to a distance from an interrogating antenna of the portal less than the threshold distance. The EAS system alarms in response to the second detecting.

The controller includes a processing circuit configured to receive location data relating to the building occupant located at a first location outside of a building.
