The present invention relates to environmentally friendly flame retardant materials based on renewable resources and industrial waste streams. The materials have advantageous intumescent properties, charring, gas phase radical traps and thermal stability. The present invention further relates to processes for the preparation of the flame retardant materials and to plastic materials comprising said flame retardant materials.

Lignin based flame retardant compositions and processes for the preparation thereof

The present invention provides a two-component printable conductive composition comprising, as separate components, a metallic component comprising a high melting point (HMP) metal or metal alloy powder having a mean particle size below about 15 &#x3bc;m; and a fluxing component comprising an organic acid and an organic solvent. The organic acid is characterized by having at least two carboxylic groups and a first logarithmic acid dissociation constant (p K) of at most about 4. These two components are manufactured and stored separately and are mixed together shortly before the combined conductive composition is used for printing. Further provided is a kit comprising the two-component composition, wherein the metallic component and the fluxing component are disposed in separate containers. The present 10 invention further provides a method for deposition and patterning of the two-component composition, comprising: mixing the metallic component with the fluxing component; and applying the obtained mixture to an insulating substrate.

Two-component printable conductive composition

A sheet-fed system designed to print multilayer PCBs is introduced. The system consists of four main blocks; a drilling station, a patterning station, a stacking/bonding station, and a sintering zone. The substrate PCB is shuttled between these various stations, to have vias drilled, to be attached to stacks of previously-processed layers, to be covered with conductive paths by means of the aforementioned ink, and to have the ink sintered under a controlled temperature and atmosphere. Patterning is accomplished by means of a novel two-step method involving both high-temperature conductive elements, low-temperature conductive elements, and flux. Two such compositions are successively applied and individually sintered to form a single conductive path; the second application serves to fill the porosities of the first layer. By this method, a highly-conductive trace is obtained without requiring high temperatures, which in turn allows use of common substrates including polymers.

Printing of multi-layer circuits

The present invention related to compositions (deodorizing or not) for human and animal excrement, especially pest and livestock, comprised of acidic agents and water soluble polymers, wherein the acidic agents are base neutralizers for the ammonia and indolic amines in the excrement and the water soluble polymers are barrier forming agents for the vapor of the offensive odor producing compounds in the excrement and for slowing down the air oxidative and enzymatic nitrification of the excrement ammonia and organic nitrogen thus dispersing the attenuating nitrate concentrations in the environment. The present invention further relates to a method of applying said compositions to excrement. Said compositions may be applied to excrement in liquid form by mixing the liquid composition together with the excrement, or in the form of a spray, by spraying the composition directly onto the excrement.

A non-liquid proton conductor membrane for use in an electrochemical system, under ambient conditions, the electrochemical system comprising (a) an anode plate; (b) a cathode plate; and (c) a non-liquid proton conductor membrane interposed between the anode plate and cathode plate, such that an electrical contact is formed between the anode plate and cathode plate via the non-liquid proton conductor membrane and ions flow therebetween, the non-liquid proton conductor membrane including (i) a matrix polymer dissolvable in a first solvent; (ii) an acidic multimer dissolvable in the first solvent; wherein, the matrix polymer is selected such that when the non-liquid proton conductor membrane is contacted with a second solvent, the non-liquid proton conductor membrane swells and as a result the electrical contact improves.
