Systems and methods may be provided for setting up a geophysical seismic information-gathering grid utilizing a source pattern including but not limited to a 'slant' or 'diamond' source as well as a receiver pattern using base patterns including but not limited to &#x201c;I+H&#x201d; or &#x201c;H+I&#x201d; and &#x201c;box plus.&#x201d; Use of such base patterns may allow seismic data to be collected and processed using a reduced number of sources and receivers to provide a seismic imaging plot having increased and noticeably improved resolution than is presently available.
