Methods, devices, and systems are provided for selecting and ordering the firing of application modules based on parameters determined during communication initialization including call type, originator of the call, etc. The module invocation sequence is determined based on criteria determined when a connection is received, which then becomes an attribute of that connection such that subsequent messages belonging to that connection have the same module sequencing applied thereto without re-determining the optimal sequence for each message by analyzing the properties of each message every time.

Intelligent module sequencing

Methods, devices, and systems are provided for filtering packets and other communication messages or portions thereof. Particularly, mechanisms are provided for efficiently determining and applying a set of trust-based filtering rules. Trust scores may be assigned to various connections and packets received on a particular connection may have filtering rules applied thereto in accordance with the trust score of the connection.

Trust based application filtering

Methods, devices, and systems are provided for employing an efficient call tracing algorithm. Messages may be filtered according to an initial filter criteria, then messages that meet the initial filter criteria are analyzed to develop a secondary filter criteria. The first and/or second filter criteria can then be applied to subsequently transmitted messages for a predetermined amount of time, most likely relating to the length of the call which met the first filter criteria.
