A portable hybrid generator system includes a first unit and a second unit. The first unit includes a first housing, a first output port, and a primary energy source disposed within the first housing. The primary energy source is electrically coupled to the first output port. The second unit is separate from the first unit. The second unit includes a second housing, an input port, a second output port, and an energy storage device disposed within the second housing. The energy storage device is electrically coupled to the input port and the second output port. The energy storage device includes at least one battery. The input port and the first output port facilitate selectively electrically coupling the first unit to the second unit to charge the energy storage device. The primary energy source is specifically calibrated or calibratable to charge the energy storage device based on the at least one battery.

Portable hybrid generator

An energy system includes an energy storage device and a link device. The energy storage device includes a housing and a battery disposed within the housing. The battery has a first chemistry. The link device is configured to facilitate electrically coupling the energy storage device to an external battery having a second chemistry different than the first chemistry, receive input power from the external battery, and regulate a power profile of the input power received from the external battery such that the energy storage device can accept the input power from the external battery. The energy storage device is configured to receive the input power from the external battery having the second chemistry through the link device and provide output power to a load using the input power received from the external battery having the second chemistry.

Link device for coupling energy storage devices having disparate chemistries

A portable hybrid generator may comprise a sturdy portable housing configured for easy movement and transport, an inverter for managing renewable and non-renewable energy sources, one or more batteries with or without a battery management system, one or more solar panels and solar panel combiner box, a communications systems, and a generator. In some instances the portable hybrid generator may comprise a communications system equipped to simplify the usage, maintenance, and control of the portable hybrid generator.

An energy storage system includes a first energy storage device having a first energy storage chemistry, a second energy storage device having a second energy storage chemistry different than the first energy storage chemistry, and a link device. The link device is configured to facilitate electrically coupling the second energy storage device to the first energy storage device, regulate a first power profile of first power provided by the first energy storage device to the second energy storage device such that the first energy storage device can selectively charge the second energy storage device, and regulate a second power profile of second power provided by the second energy storage device to the first energy storage device such that the first energy storage device can selectively draw power from the second energy storage device to increase a power capacity thereof.

The energy storage unit is configured to store electrical energy. The output is configured to facilitate providing power from the energy storage unit to a load. The processing circuit is configured to selectively restrict a power flow provided to the output by the energy storage unit in response to an operating characteristic of the energy storage and power supply device satisfying a threshold condition.

A power supply device includes an electrical connector and a power interrupt system. The regulator is positioned along a power flow path between the energy storage unit and the output. The processing circuit is configured to monitor the operating characteristic of the energy storage unit based on data from the sensor and provide a signal to the regulator to restrict the power flow provided to the output in response to the operating characteristic satisfying a threshold.

A portable energy storage and power supply system includes a first housing member, a second housing member coupled to the first housing member, a gasket coupling the first housing member with the second housing member, a battery, and a connector assembly coupled to the battery. The first housing member and the second housing member define an internal space. The battery is disposed within the internal space and configured to store electrical power. The connector assembly includes a shield having an open end and a closed end, a grommet disposed around an outer surface of the shield, and a cap disposed over the closed end of the shield and coupled to the grommet. The grommet is configured to reduce moisture penetration into the internal space of the first housing member and the second housing member.
