A vehicle system includes an interface, an outlet, and a converter configured to, responsive to user input to the interface enabling shed mode, interrupt flow of battery current to internal vehicle loads such that power available at the outlet exceeds a predetermined threshold regardless of whether an external load is plugged into or removed from the outlet, and otherwise, maintain the flow regardless of whether an external load is plugged into the outlet.

Vehicle electrical load shed

An exemplary busbar assembly includes a first strip including a first material, and a second strip including a second material different than the first material. The first strip extends continuously from a first connector portion to a second connector portion. The first connector portion electrically connects the first strip to a first structure. The second connector portion electrically connects the first strip to a second structure. The first and second strips are both configured to communicate electric current. An exemplary current communication method includes communicating electrical current using both a first strip and a second strip of a busbar. The first strip is made of a first material and bonded to the second strip made of a second material. The first strip extends continuously from a first to a second connector portion. The first connector portion electrically connects to a first structure, and the second connector portion electrically connects to a second structure.

Busbar with dissimilar materials

An exemplary bus bar assembly includes a first layer and a second layer directly adjacent the first layer. The first layer and the second layer each have a section made of a first material and extending from a first end portion to an opposing, second end portion. The first and second end portions include a second material different than the first material. An exemplary method of forming a bus bar includes joining a section of a first bus bar layer and a section of a second bus bar layer to a respective first end portion and a respective second end portion. The sections of the first and second bus bar layers are made of a first material. The first and second end portions include a second material different than the first material.

Flexible multi-layered bus bar

A battery assembly according to a non-limiting aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a busbar, an array of battery cells including an electrical terminal, and a quick connect assembly mechanically and electrically coupling the busbar to the electrical terminal.
