A thermoformable biaxially oriented coextruded polyester film comprising a copolyester base layer B, a first polyester outer layer A1 and a second polyester outer layer A2, wherein said outer layers are disposed on opposite surfaces of said base layer, and wherein: (i) said base layer B comprises a copolyester derived from terephthalic acid (TA) and a second aromatic dicarboxylic acid and one or more diol(s), wherein said second aromatic dicarboxylic acid is present in the copolyester in an amount of from about to 5 about 20 mol % of the acid fraction of the copolyester; (ii) the polyester of each of said outer layers A1 and A2 is selected from polyethylene terephthalate (PET); and (iii) the thickness of the base layer constitutes at least 90% of the total thickness of the coextruded multi-layer polyester film.

Polyester films and devices containing them

Disclosed herein are film, fiber, molding composition and molded article including copolyesters that exhibit improved heat-resistance and thermo-mechanical stability. The copolyester is derived from an aliphatic glycol, an aromatic dicarboxylic acid selected from naphthalene dicarboxylic acid and terephthalic acid, and 5-50 mol % (based on 100 mole % of all glycols) of an additional monomer, bis(2-hydroxyalkyl)-2,2'-(1,4-phenylene)bis(1,3-dioxoisoindoline-5-carboxylate). The aromatic dicarboxylic acid is at least one of naphthalene dicarboxylic acid and terephthalic acid and the aliphatic glycol is selected from C, Cor Caliphatic diols. Furthermore, the copolyesters have crystallinity of at least 10%.

Copolyesterimides comprising bis(2-hydroxyalkyl)-2,2'-(1,4-phenylene)bis(1,3-dioxoisoindoline-5-carboxylate) and articles made therefrom

Peelable polymeric film, in particular, peelable polymeric film which comprises a polymeric substrate layer and a coating layer of adhesive, and which is of particular use in the manufacture of electronic devices is described. The adhesive layer is derived from an aqueous composition which comprises an aliphatic polyurethane and is switchable.

Peelable adhesive polymeric film

A copolyester includes repeating units derived from an aliphatic glycol, terephthalic acid, and the monomer of formula (I): wherein n=2, 3 or 4; Z is C&#x2550;O; comonomer (I) constitutes a proportion of the glycol fraction of the copolyester and is present in a range of from about 5 to about 15 mol % of the glycol fraction of the copolyester; wherein said copolyester is semi-crystalline. A process tor making the copolyester includes annealing a copolyester of formula (I) at 20-80&#xb0; C. below the crystalline melting point (Tm) and above the glass transition temperature (Tg).

A semi-crystalline biaxially oriented film comprising a copolyester which comprises repeating units derived from an aliphatic glycol, an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and the monomer of formula (I): (I) wherein n=2, 3 or 4, Z is C&#x2550;O, and wherein comonomer (I) constitutes a proportion of the glycol fraction of the copolyester and is present in an amount of at least about 4 mol % of the glycol fraction of the copolyester.

A breathable, heat-sealable composite film comprising first and second layers of polymeric material wherein (i) the polymeric material of the first layer comprises copolyester comprising monomeric units derived from one or more diol(s); one or more dicarboxylic acid(s); and one or more poly(alkylene oxide) glycol(s); and (ii) the second layer is a heat-sealable polymeric layer, and a process for the production thereof.

An open-ended tube comprising walls of a heat-sealable multi-layer polymeric film, wherein said film comprises an outer shrinkable substrate layer and an inner heat-sealable layer, wherein said substrate layer has a degree of shrinkage in the longitudinal dimension of the tube of about 0% to about 50% over the temperature range 55 to 100&#xb0; C., and a degree of shrinkage in the transverse dimension of the tube of 5 to about 70% over the temperature range 55 to 100&#xb0; C.; and use thereof in the manufacture of packaging for a container suitable as a receptacle for a ready-prepared ovenable meal.
