A tire low pressure audio warning device for monitoring a tire for low air pressure and sounding an alarm when a low tire pressure condition exists. The tire low pressure audio warning device has a body that attaches to a valve stem of an inner tube or tubeless tire, or to an opening through a rim of the tire. Contained within the body is at least a low air pressure switch, a battery and an audio alarm. The low pressure switch is in air communications with the pressurized air within the tire or the inner tube. The audio alarm is electrically connected to and activated by the low air pressure switch when a low tire pressure exits. A centrifugal switch is provided within the body to prevent the audio alarm from sounding during tire rotation. The centrifugal switch opens when the tire is rotating, and closes when tire rotation is stopped. The battery within the body provides electrical power for the alarm. The alarm is easily heard by a driver, or any one else, when walking past the tire, when the vehicle is stopped or parked. The low pressure setting can be factory set or it can be of an adjustable type. The monitoring device can be used on all tires inflated with air or other gasses.

Tire low pressure audio warning device

A heat absorbing element formed from a single metal strip of substantially uniform thickness, comprising a tube having a wall comprising at least a double thickness of strip seamed along a line extending longitudinally of the tube to seal the tube for flow therethrough of a heat transfer fluid, and a fin along the tube stretching out from the seam line, the fin comprising at least one less thickness of strip than the tube wall. A method of manufacturing such an element is also disclosed.

Heat absorbing element and method of manufacture

A method of manufacturing a heat absorbing element, the method comprising combining a first metal strip face-to-face with a second metal strip having a width greater than that of the first to form a composite strip wherein the side margins of the second strip extend laterally outwardly beyond the side edges of the first. The composite strip thus has a central portion extending longitudinally of the strip comprising a double thickness of strip and portions extending longitudinally of the strip on opposite sides of the central portion each comprising one less thickness of strip than the central portion. The central portion of the composite strip is then formed into a tube, and the tube is closed along a line extending longitudinally of the tube with the side portions of the composite strip extending outwardly away from the seam to form a pair of fins along the tube.

Method of manufacturing heat absorbing elements

The invention relates to a quick-connect coupling for use with a conventional threaded male coupling member in which a female coupling member is provided of such design that the male member may be inserted and locked without moving or rotating the female member. A resilient snap ring is situated at one end thereof within a tubular shell member and is provided at said end with internal threads for engaging and holding the male member in position. The snap ring possesses a peripheral bevel on the outer surface of said threaded end which seats within a correspondingly enlarged section of said shell to hold the snap ring in locking engagement with the male member. In the event that force is applied to the coupling to pull it apart, the bevel is forced against an interior wall of said enlarged section and the ring is forced to contract in diameter to effect said locking engagement.
