A controller includes a programmable schedule and a user interface, adapted and configured to illustratively display at least a portion of the programmable schedule along a time axis and a current time indicator positioned to indicate the current time along the time axis. A method is also described including the steps of: operating a programmable controller having a scheduled current set point and a scheduled future set point; and providing a message indicating a time of the scheduled future set point change.

A programmable electronic thermostat which utilizes time and temperature pairs. This thermostat utilizes a first display which displays the current status information of the thermostat which includes the current time as well as the current temperature. A second display is incorporated in which the programmed information is included. This second display is located near the programming buttons and displays program information including the day, the period, the start time and the temperature setting. By separating the displays, the thermostat is easier to program and read.

Light control apparatus and method in which commanded changes in luminance in a space are executed in accordance with a rate function generated by a function generator to correspond to adaptability of the human eye to changes in luminance. A luminance sensor detects the luminance to which a person occupying the space was exposed just prior to the commanded change in luminance. The sensed luminance is used to determine the discrimination range of the occupant, and, upon a commanded increase in luminance in the space, the luminance is immediately increased to within the range.

A source computer program for generating object computer programs, referred to as test program sets, for use in operating a particular automatic test equipment unit (ATE). The ATE is useable for testing a variety of electrical equipment type units each of which is referred to with relation to said ATE as a unit under test (UUT). The source program involves (1) having a test engineer, who designs the individual tests, enter the tests graphically at a work station, (2) verifying the match between the entered test design, the ATE capabilities and the UUT description, and (3) having an automatic way of generating a test program for a test program set from the stored semantic content of the graphically entered test design.
