An apparatus for detecting an anomaly in a flowing stream includes a set of blades rotatably suspended in the flowing stream and aligned with a normal flow direction of the flowing stream. The blades are configured to rotate at one rate when the anomaly is present in the flowing stream and to rotate at a different rate when the anomaly is absent from the flowing stream. A device is prescribed for measuring rate of rotation and rotation direction of the blades.

Flow anomaly detector

A temperature sensor sheath (12) includes at least one stress concentrating structure (30) and preferably a plurality of such structures spaced apart along the length of the sheath (12). Each stress concentrating structure (30) produces a severe stress riser when the sheath (12) is subjected to a bending moment and allows the sheath (12) to be broken easily by applying a bending force back and forth. The stress concentrating structures (30) each preferably comprise a groove (32) formed or cut into the sheath material around the perimeter of the sheath (12).

Adjustable length temperature sensor

A measurement gauging device for an orifice meter having a restricting orifice plate, and pressure tap holes through the meter tube flanges, or through the orifice plate holding device (commonly called an orifice fitting), each side of the orifice plate to measure differential pressure through the meter tube. The measurement gauge includes a shank receivable through and rotatable in each of the pressure tap holes. An arm is moveable about an axis passing through and perpendicular to the shank. A mechanism is provided to move the arm between an extended position perpendicular to the shank and a retracted position substantially parallel to the shank wherein rotation of the shank while the arm is perpendicular will rotate the arm radially within the meter tube.
