Fine fiber products including fiber webs, as well as related assemblies, systems and methods, are described. In some embodiments, fiber webs described herein may include fine fibers and relatively low amounts of degraded polymer formed during a fiber extrusion process. The fiber webs may be used for filter media applications.

Fine fiber filter media and processes

An electret filter media includes an additive or mixtures thereof that enhance the charge stability of the media. The filter media achieves acceptable alpha values for a range of filtration challenges without significant decay in alpha values over time. Preferred charge additives include fatty acid amides and mixtures thereof.

A carded nonwoven filter media comprising one or more layers of core-sheath fibers wherein the sheath portion of a fiber is bonded to one or more adjacent core fibers is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the nonwoven filter media includes an antimicrobial fiber component.
