A system for translating receipt data output by a point of sale system of the present invention. The system includes a first electrical interface coupled to said point of sale system; an electronic encoder circuit coupled to said first interface, said encoder circuit being adapted to receive receipt and translate alpha-numeric receipt data into two-dimensional bar code data; and a second electrical interface between said encoder and an output device for displaying said two-dimensional bar code data on an electronic or physical medium. A digital embodiment includes an electronic circuit operationally coupled between the point of sale system and a device, such as a printer, adapted to output a purchase receipt. Memory fixed in a tangible medium is coupled to the electronic circuit and code is stored therein. When the software is executed by the system, the system captures and processes itemized receipt data and, optionally, other data and information from the point of sale system and outputs to a printer, or to an electronic display, an optical machine-readable symbol, or series of symbols, representative of and encoding the itemized receipt data and, optionally, additional data and information. In the illustrative embodiment, the code is a two-dimensional bar code, or series of codes. The code or codes may be encrypted and compressed. The code, or codes, are read, decoded, decrypted and decompressed by a scanner implemented on a second platform, independent from the platform on which the first system is mounted. This process yields accurate itemized receipt data that can be read and processed by a smart phone or similar device for displaying, being read audibly or printing subject to the user's preferences and device capabilities.

System and method for encoding and decoding itemized transaction data

Source data stored on a source device may be shared with other devices. Sharing the source data may include facilitating communication associated with the source data, based on a communication protocol, between a first device and another device. Receiving a first token associated with the source data may be facilitated. The first token may be encoded to generate a visual tag. An image of the visual tag may be provided to enable a second device to capture the image, retrieve the first token after decoding the visual tag, and use the first token to access the source data utilizing a communication protocol.

System and method for information sharing using visual tags

Source data stored on a source device may be shared with one or more devices. Sharing the source data may include facilitating obtaining an image of a visual tag from another device. A visual tag may be obtained via a communication method or optically captured via an optical device. The visual tag may comprise a visually encoded first token associated with the source data. The first token may be a non-public token based on the source data. The visual tag may be decoded to retrieve the first token. The device with the retrieved first token may provide for communication based on a communication protocol to a second device to download the source data using the retrieved first token. A device may be adapted to provide display of the visual tag or communicate or receive the visual tag.

Source data stored on a source device may be shared with other devices. Sharing the source data may include facilitating communication associated with the source data, based on a first communication protocol, between a first device and another device. Receiving a first token associated with the source data may be facilitated. The first token may be encoded to enable communication using a near proximity communication (NPC) protocol. Communication of the first token may be provided to a second device, located within five feet of the first device, using the NPC protocol, to enable the second device to access the source data utilizing a second communication protocol. The NPC protocol is a wireless communication protocol, and supports automatic connection between at least two devices located within five feet. The first and second devices are NPC-enabled devices.

System and method for information sharing using near proximity communication

Source data stored on a source device may be shared with one or more devices. Sharing the source data may include facilitating receiving, at a first device, a first token associated with the source data, from a second device, using a near proximity communication (NPC) protocol. The NPC protocol may support generation of the first token based on detection of presence of the first device within five feet of the second device. The first token may be encoded for NPC communication and may be non-public. The first token may be based on the source data and the receipt of the first token may be based on the detection. The first token may be decoded and communicated, based on a first communication protocol, to a third device to download the source data using the decoded first token. The second device may be an NPC-enabled device.

An electronic game and method are set forth wherein the objective of the electronic game, playable by one or more persons, is to select moving or stationary game elements and move them to or otherwise cause them to make contact with a matched or otherwise associated goal and thus score points, and do so among a game space containing other moving and/or stationary game elements which themselves may be selected and moved by the player, and which if contacted by a user-controlled game element may result in either beneficial or detrimental consequences to the configuration of the playing field, the elements themselves, scoring, and progression of the game.
