Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for providing reduced engine start times for a fumigation type internal combustion engine. A bypass is provided that directly connects the air-fuel mixer upstream of the compressor to the intake manifold, providing the air-fuel mixture to the intake manifold during engine startup.

Bypass system for engine startup

A system for sealing components of an exhaust system in an engine system comprises a bellows with an elongated portion. A flange is coupled to the elongated portion, the flange comprising a first portion and a second portion. An extended portion extends between the first portion and the second portion, the extended portion defining a gap and having a cross-sectional shape different than the first portion and the second portion. A connector is configured to couple an aftertreatment system to the flange. The connector comprises a sealing surface adjacent to the flange. A sealing component is sized and configured to fit partially within the gap and contact the sealing surface to create a seal between the extended portion and the sealing surface.

Integrated bellows gasket

A heat shield for a bellows includes a central section, a first outer section, a first annular insert, a first annular flexion member, a first pipe, and a first rod. The first outer section includes a first outer section first end and a first outer section second end opposite the first outer section end. The first annular insert includes a first slot and is positioned within the first outer section second end. The first annular flexion member is coupled to the first outer section first end of the first outer section and coupled to the central section. The first annular flexion member facilitates movement between the first outer section and the central section. The first pipe is partially received within the first slot in the first annular insert. Movement between the first outer section and the central section causes movement between the first pipe and the first rod.

Heat shield for bellows

A system and method for fluidly sealing a cylinder head interface between an engine block and a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. An example apparatus includes a perimeter seal disposed on an outer periphery of the cylinder head. The perimeter seal has a first surface to abut a cylinder head sealing surface and a second surface to abut an engine block sealing surface. The perimeter seal is configured to prevent fluid from an external environment from entering the cylinder head interface and to allow fluid within the cylinder head interface to vent to the external environment when the fluid is above a predetermined pressure. A first fluid transfer tube seal fluidly seals a first fluid transfer orifice extending between the engine block and the cylinder head. The perimeter seal and the first fluid transfer tube seal are formed as a unitary structure.
