The present disclosure relates to a method for vascular imaging and determining dynamic vascular parameters of blood flow. According to an embodiment, the present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method of determining dynamic vascular parameters of blood flow, comprising acquiring two-dimensional projection images of a vascular region of interest at a predetermined frequency, the vascular region of interest being downstream of a site of vascular administration of a radio-opaque medium, identifying, within the acquired two-dimensional projection images, heterogeneities of the radio-opaque medium, and determining the dynamic vascular parameters of the blood flow based on spatial movements of the identified heterogeneities of the radio-opaque medium. In an embodiment, the predetermined frequency is greater than 100 Hz.

Apparatus and method of determining dynamic vascular parameters of blood flow

An X ray diagnostic apparatus includes an X ray tube generating X rays, a first detector detecting the X rays, at least one second detector arranged in front of a first detection surface of the first detector and including a second detection surface narrower than the first detection surface and indicator points provided on a rear surface of the second detection surface, a projection data generation unit generating first projection data based on an output from the first detector, and a positional shift detection unit detecting a positional shift of the second detector relative to the first detector in accordance with an imaging direction by using the first projection data and a predetermined positional relationship between the points and detection elements in the second detector.

X-ray diagnostic apparatus and medical image processing method

Methods and systems of displaying an image of an object are described. The displayed image is comprised of at least two parts that are displayed so as to present a unified image of the object. One part of the image is derived using a first temporal filter and the other part of the image is derived using a second temporal filter.

Method and device for imaging a region of interest

A radiography apparatus includes a radiation source, a radiation detector, and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to obtain an X-ray image of an object, obtain a focal spot size of a radiation source used to generate the obtained X-ray image, and estimate a magnification of the obtained X-ray image. The processing circuitry is also configured to obtain, using a look-up table and the obtained focal spot size, a deconvolution kernel. The processing circuitry is also configured to generate a corrected X-ray image by performing a deconvolution operation on the obtained X-ray image using the obtained deconvolution kernel and the estimated magnification.

Focal spot de-blurring

A radiographic imaging apparatus and method for vascular interventions for acquiring very high resolution radiographic images over a small region of interest (ROI). The apparatus and associated method employs digital solid state x-ray image detectors for the medical imaging application of angiography. A mechanical arrangement, for example an arm attached to an existing large area x-ray detector, allows the small area ROI digital detector to be temporarily positioned over a region located by the standard large area imager so that additional very high resolution digital images may be obtained over the ROI.

Radiographic imaging apparatus and method for vascular interventions

An apparatus and method for reducing detection of radiation scatter from an object through which radiation passes from a source to a radiation detection means having a detecting surface. The apparatus comprises at least one radiation shield having front and rear curvilinear shield surfaces. Each of the curvilinear shield surfaces, with projected continuations thereof, is circularly symmetrical about a central axis. Each shield surface, or its projected continuation, intersects the axis at an apex. The front and rear surfaces share the same central axis. The apparatus further includes a means for mounting the shield, between the object and the detecting surface, to make it movable about the central axis and to align the central axis on a straight line from the source to the apexes of the surfaces so that all radiation passing from the source through the object must pass once through the shield, when the shield is in motion about the axis, before the radiation strikes the detecting surface. The apparatus further includes a means for moving the shield about the central axis. The shield is provided with a series of openings which allow radiation in a straight line from the source toward the detecting surface to pass through the openings to strike the detecting surface. The process for reducing detection of radiation scatter comprises; interposing at least one shield, as previously described, between the object and the detecting surface; aligning the shield so that the central axis of the shield is on a straight line from the source to the apexes of the surfaces and so that all radiation passing from the source through the object must pass once through the shield, when the shield is in motion about the axis, before the radiation strikes the detecting surface; and moving the shield about the central axis.

Process and apparatus for scatter reduction in radiography

A process and apparatus for reducing detected radiation scatter in radiography. The process comprises interposing synchronized rotating radiation shields between the object being radiographed and the detector and desirably between the radiation source and the object. Openings in the shields are aligned in such a way as to permit primary radiation to pass to the detector while stopping most radiation scatter. The apparatus comprises the shields with openings, means for mounting the shields and means for rotating the shields at appropriate speeds.

A hand-held shielding device for holding and viewing a container of radioactive material is provided. The device comprises an elongated holding portion for the container formed with a longitudinal aperture therein and a shielding portion overlapping the aperture for shielding against direct radiation through the aperture. Indirect optical imaging is provided on the shielding portion for viewing the container and material therein at a viewing position away from direct radiations emanating through the aperture.
