Temporary wet strength additives, more particularly, temporary wet strength additives comprising a polymer backbone, wherein the polymer backbone has an internal homo-crosslinking monomeric unit, a co-crosslinking monomeric unit and a cationic monomeric unit, wherein the homo-crosslinking monomeric unit is derived from a monomer having the following structure: and X is &#x2014;O&#x2014;,&#x2014;NH&#x2014;, or &#x2014;NCH&#x2014;; and Ris a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic groups; and Yis &#x2014;H, &#x2014;CH, or a halogen, fibrous structures including such temporary wet strength additives, sanitary tissue products containing such fibrous structures and processes for making such fibrous structures and/or such sanitary tissue product are provided.

Temporary wet strength additives

Temporary wet strength additives, more particularly, temporary wet strength additives comprising a polymer backbone, wherein the polymer backbone comprises a co-crosslinking monomeric unit, preferably a reversible co-crosslinking monomeric unit, especially in the presence of water, a homo-crosslinking monomeric units and a cationic monomeric unit, fibrous structures comprising such temporary wet strength additives, sanitary tissue products comprising such fibrous structures and processes for making such fibrous structures and/or such sanitary tissue product. Such fibrous structures and sanitary tissue products exhibit high initial wet tensile strength and improved flushability and/or reduced-clogging properties.

Fibrous structures and/or sanitary tissue products comprising such fibrous structures, more particularly to fibrous structures and/or sanitary tissue products that exhibit improved wet strength properties, especially temporary wet strength properties, as compared to fibrous structures and/or sanitary tissue products that contain conventional wet strength additives.

Temporary wet strength resins, more particularly, temporary wet strength resins comprising a polymer backbone, wherein the polymer backbone comprises a co-crosslinking monomeric unit, preferably a reversible co-crosslinking monomeric unit, especially in the presence of water, a homo-crosslinking monomeric units and a cationic monomeric unit, fibrous structures comprising such temporary wet strength resins, sanitary tissue products comprising such fibrous structures and processes for making such fibrous structures and/or such sanitary tissue product. Such fibrous structures and sanitary tissue products exhibit high initial wet tensile strength and improved flushability properties.

This application relates to antiviral tissue paper comprising pyrrolidone carboxylic acid as an antiviral agent. When added to tissue paper pyrrolidone carboxylic acid has the ability to kill certain strains of viruses which come into contact with the tissue. In addition to its antiviral efficacy, pyrrolidone carboxylic acid tends to be mild to the skin thus mitigating the potential for skin irritation. Furthermore, upon transfer to the skin, pyrrolidone carboxylic acid assists in retention of the natural moisture of the skin while continuing to kill deleterious viruses.

Tissue products containing antiviral agents which are mild to the skin

This application relates to antiviral tissue paper comprising a water soluble metal ion as an antiviral agent. The water soluble metal ion has at least one hydroxide ion formation constant wherein the hydroxide ion formation constant is at least 10 . When added to tissue the water soluble metal ion has the ability to kill certain strains of viruses which come into contact with the tissue.

A soft tissue product and method for making a soft tissue product which exhibits resistance to limiting while maintaining physical strength integrity. The process includes debonding and mechanically treating papermaking fibers, forming a tissue web and drying the tissue web. The process allows for the use of high levels of debonding agents and hardwood fibers.

A tissue which has at least one fibrous ply. A hydrophobically treated foam stratum is placed on at least one of the fibrous plies in order to prevent the penetration of moisture through the tissue. A hydrophobically treated foam can also be impregnated into one or more fibrous plies in order to provide a barrier to the penetration of moisture through the tissue. The invention also comprises a process for making tissue with a foam moisture barrier.

Multi-ply facial tissue paper products comprising biodegradable chemical softener compositions and a combination of a wet strength binder, either permanent and/or temporary, and a dry strength binder is disclosed. The multi-ply facial tissue paper products contain a biodegradable chemical softening composition comprising a mixture of a biodegradable quaternary ammonium compound and a polyhydroxy compound. The multi-ply facial tissue paper products also contain an effective amount of a wet strength binder, either permanent and/or temporary, and a dry strength binder to control linting and/or to offset the loss in tensile strength, if any, resulting from the use of the biodegradable chemical softening compositions. The use of both wet strength binder, either permanent and/or temporary, and dry strength binder also improves the retention of the chemical softening composition in the sheet. This results in improving one or more of the following properties of the multi-ply facial tissue paper product: the flexibility, the slip-stick coefficient of friction, the FFE-Index and the HTR-Texture. Preferably, the majority of the biodegradable chemical softening compositions will be disposed on the outer layers of the multi-ply facial tissue paper products where they are most effective. In other words, the biodegradable chemical softening compositions and the wet strength binder, either permanent and/or temporary, and the dry strength binder can be selectively distributed within the multi-ply facial tissue paper product to enhance the softness, absorbency, and/or lint resistance of a particular layer or ply.

Multi-ply facial tissue paper products comprising chemical softener compositions and a combination of a wet strength binder, permanent and/or temporary, and a dry strength binder is disclosed. The multi-ply facial tissue paper products contain a chemical softening composition comprising a mixture of a quaternary ammonium compound and a polyhydroxy compound. Preferred quaternary ammonium compounds include dialkyl dimethyl ammonium salts such as di(hydrogenated)tallow dimethyl ammonium chloride and/or di(hydrogenated)tallow dimethyl ammonium methyl sulfate. Preferred polyhydroxy compounds are selected from the group consisting of glycerol, polyglycerols having a weight average molecular weight of from about 150 to about 800, polyoxyethylene glycols and polyoxypropylene glycols having a weight average molecular weight from about 200 to 1000. The multi-ply facial tissue paper products also contain an effective amount of a wet strength binder, permanent and/or temporary, and a dry strength binder to control linting and/or to offset the loss in tensile strength, if any, resulting from the use of the chemical softening compositions. The use of both wet strength binder, either permanent ot temporary, and a dry strength binder also improves the retention of the chemical softening composition in the sheet. Preferably, the majority of the chemical softening compositions will be disposed on the outer layers of the multi-ply facial tissue paper products where they are most effective. In other words, the chemical softening compositions and the wet strength binder, permanent and/or temporary, and a dry strength binder can be selectively distributed within the multi-ply facial tissue paper product to enhance the softness, absorbency and/or lint resistance of a particular layer or ply.
