An electrosurgical hand piece device is configured to cut tissue with monopolar RF energy to extract a medical lead submersed in fluid. The device includes an electrode surrounded by an electrically insulating coating that can be exposed from a distal edge of the electrode when power is supplied to the device, thereby focusing the energy at the distal edge and enabling tissue to be more easily and safely cut from around the medical lead while in fluid.

Device for medical lead extraction

An electrosurgical device having a handpiece including a controller and an electrode assembly extending from the handpiece is disclosed. The electrode assembly includes a monopolar blade and a monopolar electrode. The monopolar blade includes a conductive element partially coated with an insulator and electrically coupled to the controller to selectively deliver a monopolar radiofrequency (RF) cutting signal. The monopolar electrode is spaced apart and electrically isolated from the monopolar blade. The monopolar electrode includes an exposed major conductive surface electrically coupled to the controller to selectively deliver a monopolar RF hemostatic sealing signal with a dispersed fluid.

An implant delivery system comprising a catheter including at least one lumen, an implant configured to be received in the lumen, and a latching mechanism configured to be received in the implant. The latching mechanism may be configured to releasably couple the implant to a delivery wire and to transmit a torque through the delivery wire to cause at least a portion of the implant to rotate. The an implant may comprise a shaft, a spacer configured to interact with at least a portion of at least one cusp of a heart valve to at least partially restrict a flow of blood through the heart valve in a closed position, a garage configured to couple the spacer to a first end region of the shaft, and at least one anchor mechanism. The garage may define a cavity configured to receive the latching mechanism and to increase rotational and translational stability of the latching mechanism.
