A thermoplastic elastomeric blend composition comprising: A) from 99 to 1 weight percent of an elastomer block copolymer comprising at least one segment of a styrenic polymer and at least one segment of an elastomeric saturated olefin polymer; and B) from 1 to 99 weight percent of a linear or substantially linear ethylene/&agr;-olefin interpolymer, and fabricated articles made from such composition.

Thermoplastic elastomeric blends

Disclosed are novel compositions of ethylene and/or &agr;-olefin/vinyl or vinylidene interpolymers and an organic acid and a filler. Also disclosed are compositions including ethylene and/or &agr;-olefin/vinyl or vinylidene interpolymers, an organic acid, various processing agents, coupling agents and a filler. Compositions having improved ignition resistance

A floor, wall or ceiling covering which comprises one or more substantially random interpolymers prepared by polymerizing one or more &agr;-olefin monomers with one or more vinylidene aromatic monomers and/or one or more hindered aliphatic or cycloaliphatic vinylidene monomers, and optionally with other polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s). The floor, wall or ceiling covering has a good balance of properties, such as sufficient flexibility and conformability to uneven or contoured surfaces for efficient application to floors, walls, or ceilings, sufficient scratch resistance, sufficient indentation resistance, indentation recovery and/or sufficient abrasion resistance.

Filled compositions having good low temperature impact performance made from a thermoplastic (e.g., a polyolefin such as polypropylene) and either at least one linear ethylene/C.sub.5 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin or at least one substantially linear ethylene/C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin polymer are disclosed. The compositions are easily molded and have particular utility in making automotive facia, parts and other household articles.

Impact modification of filled thermoplastics

Paintable thermoplastic polyolefin compositions are disclosed which comprise (i) about 20 to about 70 wt % of at least one graft-modified polypropylene, (ii) about 10 to about 40 wt % of at least one nongrafted or graft-modified homogeneously branched linear ethylene polymer, ethylene-propylene monomer rubber, ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber, heterogeneously branched linear ethylene polymer, styrene block copolymer, or a combination thereof and (iii) about 5 to about 50 wt % of an interpolymer of ethylene and an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carbonyl copolymer, e.g. a copolymer of ethylene and acrylic acid. The polypropylene and, optionally the homogeneously branched linear ethylene polymer, ethylene-propylene monomer rubber, ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber, heterogeneously branched linear ethylene polymer, and styrene block copolymer are grafted with an unsaturated organic compound containing at least one site of ethylenic unsaturation and at least one carbonyl group, e.g. maleic anhydride. The compositions exhibit excellent paintability with conventional paints without prior application of a primer or surface treatment, good heat resistance, good low temperature impact resistance, and they can be recycled by melt blending the compositions with thermoplastic materials, e.g., in an extruder.

Paintable olefinic interpolymer compositions

Compositions having good low temperature impact performance made from a thermoplastic (e.g., a polyolefin such as polypropylene) and either at least one linear ethylene/C.sub.5 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin or at least one substantially linear ethylene/C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin polymer are disclosed. The compositions are easily molded and have particular utility in making automotive facia, parts and other household articles.

Impact modification of thermoplastics

Substantially linear ethylene polymers, e.g., polyethylenes prepared by constrained geometry catalysis (substantially linear ethylene), which are grafted with one or more unsaturated organic compounds containing both ethylenic unsaturation and a carbonyl group, e.g., maleic anhydride, exhibit desirable adhesive properties. These graft-modified substantially linear ethylene polymers also impart desirable compatibility and impact properties to various thermoplastic polymer blends.
