An apparatus includes an aerial platform which is remotely controlled by an operator using a controller. The apparatus is used to service a detector of a fire safety system. The apparatus includes a frame having a gas canister and a gas delivery cup attached thereto, and a drone attached to the frame which is capable of flying the frame under remote control by the operator. A gripping mechanism for gripping a portion of a detector is provided for servicing the detector.

An arrangement for providing integrated, model-based testing of industrial systems in the form of a model-based test design module, a test execution engine and an automated test infrastructure (ATI) component. The ATI component includes a keyword processor that interfaces with test commands created by the design module to implement the testing of a specific industrial system. An optical inspection system is for visually inspecting the blades of a turbine at turning gear operation. The inspection system includes an imager for capturing images of the blades, an optical passage coupled to the imager and structured to provide maximum viewing area of the blades through an inspection port in the turbine and an illuminating assembly adapted to illuminate the blades while the imager captures images thereof. A method wherein the captured blade images are inspected for blade defects, is also disclosed.

We present, in exemplary embodiments of the present invention, novel systems and methods for syndromic surveillance that can automatically monitor symptoms that may be associated with the early presentation of a syndrome (e.g., fever, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, sniffling, rashes). Although not so limited, the novel surveillance systems described herein can be placed in common areas occupied by a crowd of people, in accordance with local and national laws applicable to such surveillance. Common areas may include public areas (e.g., an airport, train station, sports arena) and private areas (e.g., a doctor's waiting room). The monitored symptoms may be transmitted to a responder (e.g., a person, an information system) outside of the surveillance system, such that the responder can take appropriate action to identifying, treat and quarantine potentially infected individuals, as necessary.
