Devices and methods for delivering air to a patient are provided. A device includes a first portion having a first airflow inlet and a sensor configured to sense airflow, the first portion defining a first airflow path, and a second portion comprising a second airflow inlet, an impeller, and an outlet for communicating airflow to a patient, the second portion defining a second airflow path. The device includes means for coupling the first portion and the second portion, such that the sensor sensing airflow in the first portion causes corresponding movement of the impeller, wherein the impeller is configured to impel air through the second airflow inlet and out of the outlet to the patient, upon movement of the impeller.

A primary hinge may provide the pivotal connection between the first claw portion and the second claw portion, aligned along a primary hinge axis. A hair retaining clip includes clip members that are pivotally connected to one another and movable between a generally open configuration and a generally closed configuration. A hair gripping component is fixedly attached to one of the clip members and is made from a relatively soft material. The hair gripping component is generally shielded from contact with hair within the hair retaining clip when the clip members are in the generally open configuration, and the hair gripping component contacts hair within the hair retaining clip when the clip members are in the generally closed configuration.

A viewing panel device, such as an infant entertainment panel, or a mirror device used inside a motor vehicle for observing an infant in a rear-facing child safety seat secured to the rear seat of the vehicle, or a combination entertainment panel and mirror. An infant mobile or other toy has a main housing which is attached to a crib, travel bed, changing table or other article of infant's furniture. For use with a furniture piece such as a crib with slatted sides, a screw on a pressure knob is threaded into the housing to clamp the slats are clamped between the pressure knob and a vertical clamping surface on the housing. For other furniture items such as travel beds and changing tables which have configurations unsuitable for use with such a pressure knob, a clamping assembly is used. The clamping assembly has a base which is removably attached to the housing, a bracket mounted on the base, and a screw threaded to an arm of the bracket. By rotating the screw, a part of the furniture piece can be clamped between a pressure pad on the screw and a vertical clamping surface on the base. To position the mobile over an infant when the base is attached at or near a corner of the furniture piece, the base is wedge shaped. The vertical clamping surface of the removable base is at an acute horizontal angle to the vertical clamping surface of the main housing, thus skewing the main housing. The inclination of the bracket arm can be changed and locked to provide lateral adjustments in the position of the pressure pad.

A security device for obstructing movement of children or animals through an entryway includes a barrier mounted on a frame. The frame is made of substantially linear and rigid bars which are pivoted together to form one collapsible parallelogram which extends substantially entirely across the entryway. A movable pressure member is mounted on a vertical bar of the frame for laterally outward movement when the vertical bar moves down relative to the pressure member. To facilitate collapse of the frame to a position where all of the bars are parallel, each of two diametrically opposed pivots has its axis inwardly offset from the longitudinal axis of one of the bars it interconnects, and the barrier member is a net in which rectangular openings are formed by members which are substantially parallel to the bars. A frame-supporting hinge has a generally vertical hinge axis to permit horizontal swinging movement of the device.

A collapsible booster seat has a seat member, a back member connected to the seat member, two side members connected to the seat member, and a tray. A backrest portion of the back member is movable from a normal use position which is perpendicular to the seat member to a collapsed position which is parallel to the seat member. The seat member has two rear extensions which are laterally spaced from each other, and the back member has an auxiliary panel which provides a seating area between the rear extensions when the booster seat is in its normal use configuration. The back is supported on the seat for pivotal movement about a transverse pivot axis which extends through the rear extensions and through a forward portion of the auxiliary panel of the back member. Each of the side members is connected to the seat member for pivotal movement about a longitudinal pivot axis so that the side members can move between a normal use position which is perpendicular to the seat member and a collapsed position which is parallel to the seat member. To retain the side members in their normal use positions, the booster seat has locking mechanisms which releasably connect the side members to the back member. Links connect the back member to the side members in order to move leg portions of the side members inwardly in response to movement of the backrest to its collapsed position.
