A method for characterizing a subsurface formation includes receiving image data of the subsurface formation obtained by a sensor tool and receiving a plurality of non-image data logs, each non-image data log being obtained by a different type of sensor tool. The method also includes performing an electrofacies analysis on the plurality of non-image data logs where the electrofacies analysis includes defining clusters wherein each cluster has a similar property to provide a plurality of electrofacies blocks with each electrofacies block representing a depth interval. The method further includes partitioning the image data into multiple high-resolution depth segments that share a similar property, feature, and/or pattern for each electrofacies block and assigning data from the plurality of non-image data logs into a corresponding high-resolution depth segment to provide a high-resolution data log that characterizes the subsurface formation.

Methods, systems, devices, and products for well logging. Methods include conveying a logging tool in the borehole on a carrier; obtaining a borehole image over at least one interval of borehole depth from well logging measurements with a downhole imaging instrument; obtaining acoustic information representative of acoustic reflections from a far-field region of the formation; obtaining quantitative borehole fluid information indicative of properties of a formation fluid in a near-field region of the borehole; generating a borehole connectivity fracture model of the formation in dependence upon the borehole image, the quantitative borehole fluid information, and the acoustic information. Methods may include identifying near-field fractures from the borehole image, and/or identifying far-field fractures from the acoustic information. Methods may include generating a fracture interpretation correlating the near-field fractures with the far-field fractures, and generating the borehole connectivity fracture model of the formation in dependence upon the fracture interpretation.

An example method includes disposing a carrier in a borehole in an earth formation. The carrier includes a logging assembly for performing a formation evaluation of the earth formation using a sensor in proximity to a borehole wall of the borehole, fluid being disposed at least partially between the sensor and the borehole wall. The method further includes estimating an apparent dielectric loss angle of the fluid to determine a stand-off effect caused by the fluid. The method further includes estimating a formation dielectric loss angle and determining a formation resistance based at least in part on the formation dielectric loss angle. The method further includes adjusting the formation evaluation based at least in part on the estimated formation resistance that accounts for the stand-off effect caused by the fluid. The method further includes performing a wellbore operation based at least in part on the adjusted formation evaluation.

Disposing a carrier downhole in a wellbore to evaluate an earth formation

Methods and apparatus for performing formation evaluation in a borehole intersecting an earth formation. Methods may include exciting at a first borehole depth at least one critical refraction wave by steering an acoustic beam transmitted by at least one ultrasonic transmitter to an interface in the formation to intercept the interface at a critical angle; receiving an acoustic signal comprising critical refraction wave data at a logging tool in the borehole; and obtaining a wave property measurement from the critical refraction wave data. The interface may be the borehole wall in an open-hole well or behind casing. Methods include using ultrasonic transmitter(s) to generate the plurality of acoustic beams, identifying critical refraction wave data within the response signal corresponding to the at least one critical refraction wave, and obtaining the wave property measurement from the critical refraction wave data.
