A mobile application for integrating a location sharing event with a messaging platform such as a text messaging or email platform allows users to be prompted about location sharing when at least a part of the message includes location or time information. In one embodiment, the mobile application takes the form of an integrated location sharing application that parses the message to discern the relevant location or time information. The application may also provide a notification of a future event and may optionally generate a location sharing event based on the notification. In another embodiment, the application permits interactive route sharing between at least two computing devices.

Systems and methods for mobile communication integration

Embodiments for establishing configurations for a location sharing session are described. A location sharing session can include a sharing device gathering location data and providing it to a recipient device, e.g. via a server system. Configurations for a sharing session can include, for example: a duration that the sharing device provides the location data or that the sever system permits access to location data by the recipient device; preferences for how to manually or automatically set the duration for the sharing session; options to automatically end the sharing session; etc. A sharing session duration can be automatically set based on, e.g. an estimated time of arrival, a specified mode of transport, etc., and can include a specified amount of buffer time. The automatic share duration can last until a particular event occurs, e.g. the sharing device arriving at a particular location.

Establishing location sharing configurations

A system includes a server and a source client executable on a first electronic device in communication with the server. The server is configured to provide to a second electronic device in communication with the server access to location data implementable by a user interface associated with the second electronic device. The location data enables the user interface to display the geographical location of the first electronic device. The access to the location data is accessible to the second electronic device only during a time interval designated by a user of the first electronic device.

Sharing of location information in a networked computing environment

Spools of tape are carried on a hand tool that facilitates wrapping of the tape about the threaded end of a pipe while maintaining proper tension on the tape. The tool is designed to carry a spool that has a tubular core with a core longitudinal axis and opposed edges, spaced annular inner and outer side walls attached to opposed edges of the core longitudinal axis, and tape wound around the core between the side walls. The hand tool includes an elongated handle and a spool carrier attached to the one end of the handle for rotatably supporting a spool of tape. When used, the tool is orbited around the pipe end, with tension on the tape achieved by thumb pressure against the spool side wall to retard spool rotation.

A device for inserting a utility marker is described that includes an elongated handle with upper and lower ends; a marker extractor adjacent the handle lower end that is moveable along a vertical pathway, and a marker magazine adjacent the handle lower end adapted to hold a plurality of markers including a leading marker adjacent the marker extractor pathway. The extractor, when moved to its extended position by pushing on the plunger, extracts the leading marker from the marker magazine, and inserts the lower end of the marker into the ground. Simultaneously, a valve actuator at the lower end of the handle is moved to an operative position to open the valve of an aerosol can, spraying paint adjacent to the marker. In one embodiment of the invention, the magazine is adapted to enclose a continuous roll of markers. In another embodiment, a housing adjacent the marker extractor pathway receives a replaceable magazine of stacked markers.

A unique marker for use with the device is also described, the marker including an extraction projection that is engageable by the lower end of the marker extractor.
