In a particular embodiment, a method of functional safety in a battery management system is disclosed that includes: generating, by a module monitoring system of the battery management system, battery sensor data; generating, by the module monitoring system, based on the battery sensor data, integrity data; sending, by the module monitoring system, via a wireless black communication channel to a wireless network controller of the battery management system, the battery sensor data and the integrity data; and sending, by the wireless network controller, to a vehicle control system, the battery sensor data.

Functional safety in a battery management system

Methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer program products for lifetime battery tracking using a wireless interface are disclosed. During production and assembly of a battery pack, the location of a battery module in a production line is tracked using detected signal strengths from a wireless transmitter of a battery module monitoring system. During the life of the battery module, the battery module monitoring system provides battery usage data that can be combined with vehicle data for diagnostic analysis.

Lifetime battery tracking using a wireless interface

According to one embodiment, a system for hybrid communication between electronic circuits is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of sensor nodes configured to read data from one or more sensors. The system also includes a master node configured to receive periodic data transmissions from each of the plurality of sensor nodes via a primary transmission medium and a secondary transmission medium, which is different from the primary transmission medium.
