A motion picture soundtrack reproduction system has a center front soundtrack channel and a plurality of other soundtrack channels. A volume control adjusts the gain of all the channels. The volume control has a range of settings from a minimum to a maximum, the gain of the center front channel having substantially a first relationship to the volume control settings and the gain of the other channels having substantially a second relationship to the volume control settings, the relationships being such that for a range of volume control settings less than a first setting the gain of the center front channel remains substantially constant while the gain of the other channels decreases as the setting decreases or decreases more gradually than the gain of the other channels as the setting decreases.

A light modulator configured to modulate at least two channels of an image to be projected and a lighting system configured to illuminate portions of the modulator corresponding to each channel with light having properties consistent with the channel. The channels comprise, for example, left and right channels of a 3D projection (e.g., a digital cinema projection). In one embodiment, the channels are provided by a multi-sectored filter wheel having at least one filter section for a first channel and at least one filter section for a second channel, where boundaries between the sectors are different in each section.

A dual projection system utilizes a first projector and a second projector to project alternating left and right channel images of a 3D display. The projectors are inversely synchronized such that while the first projector projects a right channel image the other projector projects a left channel image. A projection filter in each projector has left channel properties when the image being projected is a left channel image and right channel properties when the image being projected is a right channel image. The images projected from each projector alternate between left and right channel images approximately once per frame.

The present invention generally relates to use of constant current power supply to control temperatures of a device to plural Curie temperatures, without sacrificing the precision and uniformity of temperature achieved in the known devices. In accordance with exemplary embodiments, multiple layers of alloy having different Curie temperatures are separately accessed as an outer most layer is heated through its Curie point. Power to the device can be controlled by varying a frequency of circulating current and by searching to identify a layer of Curie point material which provides heating at a temperature accurately controlled to a fixed value, where any one of a number of different such temperatures may be selected.

Method and apparatus for providing multiple autoregulated temperatures

An antenna system and method for use in a portable unit of a wireless telephone headset, wireless telephone headset adapter, or other telecommunication device combines a capacitive coupling antenna with an electric field sensitive antenna. The electric field sensitive antenna, such as a monopole antenna, receives and transmits RF signals when the portable unit is located remote from the user. A patch antenna receives and transmits RF signals when the portable unit is located proximate to, for example is worn by, the user. The patch antenna is a conductive surface for capacitively coupling to a user's body which acts as a radiating and receiving medium. Both the patch antenna and monopole antenna are coupled to an antenna port by matching circuits to tune each antenna for desired RF characteristics. When worn by the user, the RF effects of the monopole antenna are negligible and the patch antenna operates as the primary antenna. When located remotely from the user, the patch antenna will not be capacitively coupled to a body and the RF effects will be negligible as compared with the RF effects of the monopole antenna. The portable unit of a wireless headset receives and transmits signals when the portable unit is located either proximate to the user or remote from the user.
