A gaming system enabling financial transactions for an electronic gaming machine, or a plurality of electronic gaming machines is described. The gaming system includes an electronic gaming machine processor, a database, and a master gateway. The electronic gaming machine processor is associated with the electronic gaming machine. The database includes data for each financial transaction, the database including a financial transaction identification, a cardholder name, and a transaction value. The master gateway includes at least one of a problem gaming limit and a gaming rule set. The master gateway determines that the financial transaction complies with at least one of the problem gaming limit and the gaming rule set. The master gateway processes compliant financial transactions and rejects non-compliant financial transactions.

Enabling financial transactions for electronic gaming machines

A gaming system and method for enabling financial transactions in a gaming environment are described. The gaming system includes an electronic funds transfer (EFT) terminal, a gateway and a financial network. The gateway retrieves transaction information related to a fund transfer request. The gateway can then independently determine that the fund transfer request complies with the applicable gaming limits and gaming rules. An approval message is transmitted from the gateway to the EFT terminal for compliant transactions that are approved by the financial network(s) and comply with a configurable gaming limit.

An electronic fund transfer system and method for transferring a plurality of electronic funds from a financial account to a gaming device is described. The method includes enabling a handheld mobile communication device to receive a user instruction that transfers electronic funds from the financial account to the gaming device associated with a casino management system. A host system communicates with the gaming credit system via a local network. A funds management portal communicates with the host system and a secure payment gateway. The funds management portal receives a record of the electronic funds transfer from the user financial account. The method enables the funds management portal to send instructions to the host system that issues an electronic credit to the gaming device. The electronic credit corresponds to the electronic funds from the financial account. A ticket, which is associated with the electronic credit, is received by the gaming device.

Electronic transaction systems and methods for gaming or amusement credit purchases

A gaming gateway system for a smart phone is described. The gateway system includes an embedded controller, a smart phone, a financial gateway, and a gaming regulatory gateway. The embedded controller is communicatively coupled to the networked slot machine and the smart phone. A financial transaction request is received by the smart phone. The financial gateway is communicatively coupled to a financial network and the embedded controller. The gaming regulatory gateway generates the authorization request associated with the financial transaction request for the networked casino slot machine when the financial transaction request is less than a predetermined gaming limit. The gaming regulatory gateway includes a regulatory rules module having a regulatory rule that associates the predetermined gaming limit with a gaming property having the networked casino slot machine. The embedded controller generates an electronic record in response to an approval by the financial network for the financial transaction request.

Gaming gateway system for a smart phone

A cashless mobile gaming system and method is described. A server includes a financial gaming passport module that operates an exchange that qualifies a financial transaction. A mobile application receives an exchange request input that is communicated to the financial gaming passport. Funding sources are then queried by the financial gaming passport to determine the available funds at each of the funding sources. A hold-fund request is generated by the funding source when the exchange request is approved by the funding source. The financial gaming passport associated with the server communicates that if a casino management system (CMS) issues a value to the mobile application disposed on the patron wireless device, then the financial gaming passport associated with the server certifies a casino reimbursement.

A system and method for purchasing credits is described. The method includes receiving an electronic transaction request instruction by a mobile electronic transaction terminals. Each electronic transaction terminals includes a display and is in exclusive electronic communication with a secure gateway. The method proceeds to generate an electronic transaction request for an electronic transaction using the electronic transaction request instruction. The method then communicates the electronic transaction request from the secure gateway to a financial account server. At the secure gateway, an electronic transaction approval from the financial account server is received. The secure gateway then generates an authorization to dispense credits. The authorization to dispense credits is communicated from the secure gateway to at least one mobile electronic transaction terminal. Credits are then dispensed, wherein the credits are associated with a credit system located at an activity table.

A system for processing a transaction is described. The system may comprise two summary and turns on a logic component configured for processing the transaction and a memory communicatively coupled to the logic component. The memory may have instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the logic component, cause the logic component to receive a request for funds, determine a transaction type associated with the request for funds, aggregate a plurality of transaction requirements based upon the transaction type, analyze transaction data associated with the request for funds, compare the transaction data to the plurality of transaction requirements, determine that the transaction data satisfies each of the plurality of transaction requirements, submit the request for funds to one of a plurality of payment processors, and transmit the transaction response to a client device, where the transaction response comprises one of an approval message or a declined message.

Electronic fund transfer (EFT) systems and methods are disclosed for managing and transferring electronic funds from a patron's financial account to provide credit in physical form. The systems comprise an electronic fund transfer (EFT) terminal, at least one credit system, and a gateway in communication with the EFT terminal, the at least one credit system, and a financial network. The EFT terminal is configured to communicate with the patron's financial account via the gateway and the financial network to electronically transfer funds at the patron's request.

Systems and methods for electronic fund transfers for use with gaming systems

A client device, a system and a method for enabling financial transactions for electronic gaming machines are described. The client device includes an electronic gaming machine processor, a printer, a printer sharing module, one or more wireless communication modules, a slot cabinet, a backend server, and a master gateway. The slot cabinet houses the electronic gaming machine, printer, and a wireless communications module. The electronic funds transfer terminal receives fund transfer requests from patrons and communicates the requests to an aggregator communicatively coupled to the backend server. The backend server in turn transmits the request to the master gateway that communicates with financial networks and maintains a database of transactions made through the client devices. The master gateway communicates transaction data related to the fund transfer request and the gaming limits and gaming rules to the backend server. Compliant transactions that are approved by the financial network(s) receive a corresponding voucher validation code. The voucher validation code is communicated to the electronic funds transfer terminal through the backend server and aggregator for printing at the printer of the slot cabinet and delivery to the patron.

A cashless mobile gaming system and method is described. The cashless mobile gaming system includes a network appliance, a financial gaming passport module, a mobile application disposed on a wireless device and one or more funding resources. The network appliance includes the financial gaming passport module, which operates an exchange between a casino patron and a casino operator that qualifies a financial transaction by ensuring regulatory compliance with gaming regulations. Funding sources are queried by the financial gaming passport to determine the available funds at the funding sources. A hold-fund request is generated by the funding source when the exchange request is approved by the funding source. The financial gaming passport communicates with the casino operator that if the casino operator issues a value to the casino patron, then the financial gaming passport certifies that the casino operator shall be reimbursed within a period of time by the funding source.

A gaming system and method for enabling financial transactions in a gaming environment are described. The gaming system includes an electronic funds transfer (EFT) terminal, a gateway, a financial network, and a Slot Accounting System (SAS). The gateway retrieves transaction information related to a fund transfer request. Compliant transactions that are approved by the financial network(s) are submitted to the SAS by the gateway for generation of a corresponding voucher validation code.

Systems and methods for purchasing credits are described. The system includes a plurality of electronic transaction terminals, an activity table, a computing device, a financial account server, and a credit system. The electronic transaction terminals include a handheld device that receives patron input and are located at an activity table. The electronic transaction terminals are in electronic communication with the computing device and provide an electronic transaction request instruction. The system generates from the electronic transaction request instruction, an electronic transaction request that is communicated from the computing device to the financial account server. The computing device then receives an electronic transaction approval from the financial account server and generates an authorization to dispense credits to a patron. The computing device then communicates the authorization to dispense credits to the credit system associated with the activity table so that the patron receives the credits at the activity table.

Electronic fund transfer (EFT) systems and methods are disclosed for managing and transferring electronic funds from a patron's financial account for use in a gaming or amusement environment. The systems comprise a secured electronic transaction terminal and a secured first computing device in communication with a financial network. The terminal is configured to communicate with the patron's financial account via the secured first computing device and the financial network to electronically transfer funds at the patron's request.

A client device, a system and a method for enabling financial transactions for an electronic gaming machine is described. The client device includes an electronic gaming machine processor, a printer, a printer sharing module and a controller. The printer sharing module is electrically coupled to the printer and the electronic gaming machine processor. The controller is electrically coupled to the printer sharing module. The controller reroutes the communications between the electronic gaming machine processor and the printer and allows the controller to communicate with the printer so that the controller instructs the printer to print a voucher. The system also includes a wireless communications module that enables communications with at least one other wireless communication module over short distances using point to point or broadcast packets that allow for bi-directional data transmission between each client device located on a casino gaming floor.

Systems, and methods are provided for the electronic purchase of gaming or amusement credits using a transaction device at a patron's location to apply funds from a financial account to the purchase of credits for use with an amusement or gaming device, system, or point of other wagering activity. Such credits are provided at the patron's location in the form of a printed ticket or other physical indicia of equivalent value, credits appearing in the credit meter and on the display of a gaming device, credit issued to a player card confirmed at the patron's location, credit issued to a debit card confirmed at the patron's location, and/or cash or other monetary-equivalents. In addition, physical confirmation of the completed electronic transaction from the patron's financial account may be concurrently provided to the patron in the form of a receipt.
