A disposable separation module is disclosed which is capable of connecting to a fluid processing system in a quick-connect fashion. The module includes a housing containing a separation element with a plurality of fluid connectors on one end of the housing which are parallel to and exclusive of each other. This arrangement provides for essentially simultaneous engagement and fluid tight sealing of the fluid connectors to corresponding mating connectors on the fluid processing system. A retention mechanism is included which retains the entire module in fluid tight engagement by a single action without producing relative motion between the mating connectors.

The user activated iontophoretic device of the present invention includes a disposable patch and a reusable controller. The patch contains an electrode assembly, an electrode reservoir and at least one drug reservoir. The patch is divided or otherwise separated into at least two portions, with one portion containing the electrode reservoir and the other containing the drug reservoir, which may include a medication in a dry form. The electrode reservoir and the drug reservoir are sealingly separated by a barrier, which can be manipulated to bring the reservoirs into fluid conducting contact with one another. A method of activating the device includes causing the two portions to rotate about a central axis relative to one another to manipulate the barrier and bring the reservoirs into fluid conducting contact with one another to at least partially hydrate one of the reservoirs. In this way, the device is suitable for use to deliver a drug which has limited stability in an aqueous solution.

A new set of surgical instruments is described which provides a movable constraint such that the instruments include a saw guide which may be used in either a constrained or unconstrained fashion. The instruments have a movable restraint which, in the down position provides a continuous surface with the remainder of the instrument for guiding a saw, and when in the up position provides a constrained slot for guiding the saw of a surgeon in making cuts in prosthesis implantation surgery.
