A safety device allows selective opening or closing of a drain opening of a tank, to render such action more difficult for a child. The device has a body, a plug, a means for restricting axial movement of the plug in a conduit that runs through the body, and, optionally, a tether. The conduit is adapted for engagement in the drain opening. The plug is frictionally engaged in the conduit. The means for restricting axial movement has complementary elements disposed on the plug and on the body, such that, in a first rotational position, the plug is axially retained relative to the conduit and, in a second rotational position, the plug is not restricted from axial movement out of the conduit. The tether attaches to the plug and the body to keep the plug proximate to the body.

Child-resistant drain valve

A spout that dispenses water from a water dispenser has a disinfection portion that provides two passes of the water therethrough. The disinfection portion has two flow tubes, the second arranged inside the first, so that an annular cross-section flow path is defined by an inside wall of first tube and an outside wall of the second tube. A second flow path having a circular cross-section is defined by an inside wall of the second tube. The water flow is transferred between the flow at a second end of the disinfection portion by a second end portion. At a first end portion, located at a first end of the disinfection portion, a first end portion body provides connections to the disinfection section for both an inlet and an outlet. The order of flow through the disinfection portion flow paths may depend upon the orientation of the spout.

Spout with reversed flow

A device for preventing the overflow of a fluid reservoir, having a first tubular body with a hole through the interior and exterior surfaces at one end, a second tubular body disposed within the first body such that a portion of the interior surface of the first body and the exterior surface of the second body define an air channel, and a floatation device. The position of the tubular bodies relative to one another determine whether air from a fluid reservoir may exit the reservoir via the hole in the end of the first body. The flotation device is connected to an end of the second body and floats in the fluid reservoir wherein movement of the second body relative to the first body is caused by a change in the water level, such that the air channel is opened or closed by the position of the floatation device.

Device and method for preventing the overflow of a fluid reservoir

A beverage cooler is provided with an improved thermoelectric chiller unit for chilling a supply of water or other selected beverage within a cooler reservoir. The improved thermoelectric chiller unit includes a thermoelectric heat transfer module captured by a spring mount with substantially uniform pressure distribution between a chiller probe for chilling the water within the cooler reservoir, and a heat exchanger for dissipating heat drawn from the chilled water. The cooler reservoir has a faucet mounted thereon for on-demand dispensing of the water, and is mounted as a removable unit within a cooler housing with a bottom wall of the reservoir defining an inverted cup-shaped receptacle for close slide-fit reception of the chiller probe.

Thermoelectric beverage cooler

An improved mounting adapter is provided for use in a bottled water cooler of the type having an upwardly open cooler reservoir for receiving a supply of water from a bottle mounted over the reservoir in an inverted orientation to permit water downflow from the bottle to the reservoir. The improved adapter includes a compact and substantially unitized adapter body or shell for removable snap-fit mounting onto the cooler reservoir at the open upper end thereof. The adapter additionally includes an upstanding feed tube or probe for operatively engaging a valved bottle cap mounted on the neck of a water-containing bottle supported in an inverted orientation over the cooler reservoir. In one form, the adapter may carry a seal ring gasket for sealingly engaging an inner wall surface of the cooler reservoir, and an air filter may be provided to filter ambient air drawn into the reservoir.
