A source wireless device sends an indication of support for one or more broadcast services that broadcasts information over a wireless local area network (WLAN). The source wireless device determines, based on one or more factors, whether to use a broadcast stream of a broadcast service or a unicast stream to deliver information to one or more receiving wireless devices.

Indicating support for a broadcast service

Network information may be discoverable without requiring a connection to that network. For example, Access Network Query Protocol ('ANQP') may allow a device to discover information about a network prior to the device associating with that network. In other words, ANQP allows a network terminal to request additional network information prior to establishing network capability. The additional network information that may be discoverable includes network latency, cellular capabilities, hotspot capabilities, mobility capabilities, neighbor reports, station identification, and multiple hotspot session identification.

Discovering network information available via wireless networks

A mobile device may retrieve service information about a network prior to associating with the network. Utilizing an advertisement protocol to transmit service query messages, a mobile device may receive service query responses from a network that identify the services available prior to establishing network capability. In other words, the messaging is prior to the exchange of any authentication parameters between the device and the network as well prior to the establishment of a recognized session between the device and the network.

In an access device associated with a first network cell, a method for enabling user equipment (UE) to obtain a service unavailable through the first network cell includes receiving a request for the UE to access the service, and identifying, in a message to the UE, a plurality of second network cells providing the service.

In some examples, a source device categorizes a plurality of messages for transmission to a recipient device, the plurality of messages comprising vehicle-related information. Based on the categorizing, the source device identifies selected messages of the plurality of messages to be aggregated. The source device aggregates the selected messages into a single transmission from the source device to the recipient device.

In some examples, a controller receives information of a route of a vehicle, and selects a first parameter set from among a plurality of parameter sets based on the route of the vehicle, the plurality of parameter sets corresponding to different conditions of usage of the vehicle, where each parameter set of the plurality of parameter sets includes one or more parameters that control adjustment of one or more respective adjustable elements of the vehicle. The controller causes application of the first parameter set to control a setting of the one or more adjustable elements of the vehicle.

The present disclosure provides for methods, systems and apparatus related to WLAN enhanced channel map advertisements. An aspect of the disclosure provides for a method for discovering a network. The method includes sending a discovery request to an access point for discovering a network, the discovery request requesting for: available channels of access points within a radio range of the device, one or more access network operators for the available channels, and one or more service providers for the available channels. The method further includes receiving from the access point a response message including one or more lists indicative of: the available channels, the one or more access network operators, and the one or more service providers. In some embodiments, the response message is based on one of: internal data of the access point, and databases indicative access network operators and service providers.

A method performed by user equipment (UE) includes receiving a request to access a service unavailable through a first network cell associated with the UE and informing a second network cell that the UE is requesting to obtain the service unavailable through the first network cell. The request may be received from a user of the UE or may be a paging message.
