An in-context cognitive information assistant is provided by: obtaining a context for a user, wherein the context comprises a calendar activity with one or more other users; supplementing the context by obtaining one or more conversations with the user related to the context; extracting cognitive data for the context and the conversations; and finding relevant materials in a corpus using the cognitive data. The relevant materials are used to prepare the user for interactions with other users.

In-context cognitive information assistant

A system and computer program product for an integrated blog in a collaborative environment is provided. In this regard, the computer program product includes a computer program comprising a set of instructions which when executed by a machine causes the machine to perform the steps of processing a single sign-on for a member of the collaborative environment, associating a role with the member so as to place the member into a collaborative space in the collaborative environment and to regulate the member in interacting with the collaborative space, retrieving a list of collaborative applications for the role assigned to the member, and loading the collaborative applications in the list into the collaborative space for use by the member from within the collaborative space, the collaborative applications including at least a blogging application.

Blog integration in a collaborative system

An un-authenticated user attempts to access a protected resource at a Web- or cloud-based application from within a rich client. The client has an associated local HTTP server. Upon being refused access, a browser-based login dialog is opened automatically within an embedded browser panel. After receipt of the user's login credential in the panel, the browser passes the credential server application. If the user is authenticated, the browser-based dialog receives a cookie establishing that the user is authenticated for a session. The browser then automatically makes a request to the HTTP server, passing the cookie. Upon receipt of the request at the rich client HTTP server, the rich client saves the cookie in an associated data store, shuts down the login dialog, and re-issues the original request to the server, this time passing the cookie. The rich client, having provided the cookie, is then permitted to access the resource.

Cross-platform authentication from within a rich client

A method, system and apparatus for an integrated blog in a collaborative environment. In this regard, the collaborative environment can include a named collaborative space and one or more collaborative components disposed in the named collaborative space. For instance, the collaborative components can include a discussion forum, a persistent chat, a shared calendar and a shared document library, to name a few. Importantly, a blogging application can be disposed in the named collaborative space as one of the collaborative components. To that end, the blogging application can be coupled to a collaborative blog internal to the collaborative environment.

Referenced content is shared through collaborative business applications by detecting referenced content in an electronic communication. The referenced content references content stored in an external repository. The referenced content identifies a registered external repository connector. A determination is made whether an Access Control List ('ACL') for the referenced content lacks an entry for a recipient of the electronic communication. Also an ACL entry is generated for the recipient in response to the recipient lacking an entry in the ACL for the referenced content. The ACL entry controls access to the referenced content for the recipient.

Sharing referenced content through collaborative business applications

An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for sharing referenced content through collaborative business applications. The method includes detecting referenced content in an electronic communication. The referenced content references content stored in an external repository. The referenced content identifies a registered external repository connector. The method also includes determining that an Access Control List ('ACL') for the referenced content lacks an entry for a recipient of the electronic communication. The method includes generating an ACL entry for the recipient in response to the recipient lacking an entry in the ACL for the referenced content. The ACL entry controls access to the referenced content for the recipient. The ACL entry is defined based on a security policy associated with the recipient.

The present invention is a method, system and apparatus for managing external data sources in a discussion forum resource. A discussion forum resource can include at least one topic thread disposed in the discussion resource forum and created for externally sourced content in the discussion forum resource. The discussion forum resource further can include a data aggregator coupled to the topic thread and configured to manage the externally sourced content in the topic thread. Notably, the externally sourced content can include text, audio, imagery or video.

Managing external data sources in a discussion forum resource

Apparatus and method are provided for intelligently routing electronic messages to computers and pagers. Program code executable by a programmable controller is operative to monitor user activity at a computer workstation, for example. If the user appears to be at the workstation based on the detected activity of a computer workstation input device, the electronic message is forwarded to the computer workstation. If, however, no user activity is detected, the electronic message is forwarded to the user's pager.
