A compressor assembly having a high velocity muffler system which produces a particle-free compressor pump feed while reducing noise output from the compressor assembly during compressing operations. The high velocity muffler system is maintenance-free and comprises an inertia filter. The compressor assembly uses a method for producing a compressor pump feed and reducing noise during compressing operations by processing a gas through the high velocity muffler system which has an inertia filter and a muffler chamber to produce a compressor pump feed which can be compressed by a pump assembly.

A compressor assembly having a tank seal which seals a tank gap between a portion of a housing of the compressor assembly and a portion of a compressed gas tank and a method for controlling the sound level of a compressor assembly by configuring a tank seal to seal a gap between the housing of a compressor assembly and a compressed gas tank. The sound level of the compressor assembly can be controlled by sealing a tank gap between at least a portion of a compressor assembly housing and at least a portion of a compressed gas tank.

Method of reducing air compressor noise

An oil lubricated compressor having a universal motor, efficient starting and re-starting characteristics, and a long operating life. The oil lubricated compressor can have a brushed or brushless universal motor which can drive a cooling fan and a pump. The universal motor can achieve a high torque to voltage ratio, as well as a high torque to current ratio, upon starting or re-starting of the compressor. Optionally, the oil lubricated compressor can use a single cooling fan disposed in the compressor at a location which is between the universal motor and a cylinder head of the pump.

The vibration absorption member can provide a pressure to a portion of the compressed gas tank. A method of controlling sound emitted from a compressor assembly, by using a vibration absorber which exerts a force upon the compressed gas tank. A means for controlling the sound level of a compressed gas tank by using a means for absorbing vibration from the compressed gas tank which exerts a pressure on a portion of the compressed gas tank.

Tank dampening device

A compressor assembly that has a compressed air tank having a vibration absorption member. The vibration absorption member can exert a pressure on a portion of the compressed air tank. A method of controlling sound emitted from a compressor assembly, by using a vibration absorber which applies a force against the compressed gas tank. Controlling the sound level of the compressed gas tank is accomplished by absorbing vibration from the compressed gas tank by which exerting a pressure on a portion of the compressed gas tank.
