Systems and methods are disclosed herein that relate to frequency domain resource allocation for interlaced transmission. Embodiments of a method performed by a wireless device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving a reserved resource indicator that indicates an uplink reserved resource pattern. The uplink reserved resource pattern defines at least which subset of uplink Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) from among a set of allocated uplink PRBs are not available for uplink transmission. In this manner, a low overhead, flexible frequency domain resource allocation scheme for partial interlace transmission is provided.

Frequency domain resource allocation for interlaced transmission

Embodiments include methods for a network node to activate semi-persistent sounding reference signal (SP-SRS) resources for transmission by a user equipment (UE). Such methods include sending, to the UE, a control message comprising configuration of a set of SP-SRS resources associated with a particular serving cell of the wireless communication network. Such methods include sending to the UE a further control message for activating the configured set of SP-SRS resources. The further control message includes information identifying an SP-SRS resource of the set of SP-SRS resources to be activated, and an indication of the identified SP-SRS resource's spatial relation with a further resource that is not associated with the particular serving cell. The indication comprising an identity of a further serving cell that is different from the particular serving cell and that is associated with the further resource. Other embodiments include complementary methods for a UE.

Cross-carrier spatial relation indication for semi-persistent sounding reference signal (SP-SRS) resources

There is described a method of operating a user equipment in a radio access network. The method comprises transmitting signaling based on a sounding reference signaling schedule, the sounding reference signaling schedule scheduling transmission of sounding reference signaling in a first time interval, wherein the first time interval overlaps, in an overlap time interval, with a second time interval, for which physical channel signaling is scheduled, wherein transmitting signaling comprises transmitting, in the overlap time interval, the physical channel signaling omitting the scheduled sounding reference signaling. Handling sounding reference signaling

Channel estimation technique

Systems and methods for collection and reporting of Channel Occupancy (CO) statistics for network tuning are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for tuning one or more parameters of a network comprises obtaining a configuration for CO measurement and reporting. The method also includes obtaining a plurality of CO measurements based on the obtained configuration for CO measurement and reporting. One or more of the plurality of CO measurements are obtained when a Radio Resource Control (RRC) state of the wireless device is RRC_INACTIVE or RRC_IDLE. One or more of the plurality of CO measurements are obtained when the RRC state is RRC_CONNECTED. The method also includes reporting a result of one or more of the plurality of CO measurements to a network node. This might allow improved tuning of networks such as tuning of mechanisms that are used to compensate for potential CCA/LBT failures.

Collection and reporting of channel occupancy statistics for network tuning

A method, network node and wireless device (WD) for adapting periodic configurations based on spatial relations are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes configuring multiple transmission resources or multiple sets of transmission occasions for a radio resource control configured periodic uplink transmission. The method further includes associating each configured uplink transmission received from the WD by the network node with a downlink reference signal, the downlink reference signal provided as a direct or indirect spatial relation reference for the uplink transmission.

Adapting periodic configurations based on spatial relations

A method, wireless device and network node are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method for a wireless device includes receiving a configuration of a reference signal resource set from the network node, the reference signal resource set being a set of single-symbol and single antenna port reference signal resources in at least one slot; and based on at least one parameter of the received configuration, determining whether the UE can assume a same antenna port for all reference signal resources of the reference signal resource set.

Methods and apparatuses for downlink tracking reference signal configuration

Systems and methods related to partial interlace frequency domain resource allocations for uplink transmissions from a wireless device are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving a resource allocation for an uplink transmission that allocates resources in one or more partially allocated interlaces and performing an uplink transmission on the allocated resources in the one or more partially allocated interlaces in accordance with the resource allocation. In this manner, a low-complexity approach to support flexible frequency domain resource allocation is provided. In addition, using this approach, an interlace may be shared by two or more wireless devices, which may increase spectral efficiency and reduce latency.

Resource allocation for uplink transmissions in unlicensed spectrum

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed for transmitting feedback information when operating in unlicensed portions of the radio frequency spectrum. In one embodiment, a wireless device is configured to receive a configuration for a 5 plurality of channels, the configuration configuring each of the plurality of channels with at least one physical uplink control channel, PUCCH, resource; and transmit feedback on the at least one PUCCH resource that is configured in at least one channel of the plurality of channels. In another embodiment, a network node is configured to transmit a configuration for a plurality of channels, the configurationconfiguring each of the plurality of channels with at least one physical uplink control channel, PUCCH, resource; and receive feedback on the at least one PUCCH resource that is configured in at least one channel of the plurality of channels.

Transmit feedback for unlicensed networks

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed for enabling inter carrier interference compensation for interleaved mapping from virtual to physical resource blocks. In one embodiment, a network node is configured to determine to configure the first signal to be located at a subcarrier except at an edge sub-carrier of a resource block, RB; transmit the configuration of the first signal to the WD; and receive a physical uplink shared channel, PUSCH, signaling and the first signal from the WD based at least in part on the determined configuration. In one embodiment, a WD is configured to perform a de-inter-carrier-interference (de-ICI) filter estimation on a first received signal and a second received signal; apply a de-ICI filter to a third received signal, the de-ICI filter being based on the de-ICI filter estimation; and after the application of the de-ICI filter, de-interleaved map and demodulate the third received signal.

Enabling inter carrier interface compensation for interleaved mapping from virtual to physical resource blocks

A method for accessing a cellular communications network in unlicensed spectrum is provided. More specifically, the method is related to performing a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) procedure prior to transmitting a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) preamble for accessing a New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) network. A User Equipment (UE) first performs the LBT procedure. If the LBT procedure is successful, the UE then generates a punctured PRACH preamble and transmits the punctured PRACH preamble. By puncturing the PRACH preamble, it is possible to create a gap(s) for performing the LBT procedure in a way that is backward compatible with existing NR-U specification and does not reduce a number of random access occasions in a slot or a mini-slot. As a result, it is possible to transmit PRACH preambles in consecutive random access occasions, thus helping to increase spectrum utilization and reduce latency in the cellular communications network.
