Systems and methods for coordinating components can include: determining, by a first application executing on a client device, a need to perform a sharable functional task; identifying a first software component installed on the client device and capable of performing a first variation of the sharable functional task; identifying a second software component installed on the client device and capable of performing a second variation of the sharable functional task, wherein the second variation of the sharable functional task is functionally overlapping with and not identical to the first variation; identifying a set of characteristics of both the first software component and the second software component; selecting the second software component for performing the sharable functional task based on the set of characteristics, where the set of characteristics includes at least a version number; and delegating performance of the sharable functional task to the second software component.

Coordinating multiple components

A system and method for coordinating security components, including: determining, by an application executing on a client device, a need to perform a sharable functional task; identifying a first security component and a second security component installed on the client device and capable of performing variations of the sharable functional task, where variations of the sharable functional task are functionally overlapping and not identical; identifying a set of characteristics characterizing the first security component and the second security component; selecting the second security component as a primary security component for performing a variation of the sharable functional task based on the set of characteristics; delegating, by one or more processors, performance of the sharable functional task to the primary security component; and instructing the processors to cause functionality associated with the first security component to be at least partially suspended.

Coordinating multiple security components

A system and method including: determining, by a manager module, a need to determine a primary software component of a client device; identifying a first software component and a second software component of the client device; identifying a set of characteristics of the first software component and the second software component; determining that the first software component is the primary software component based on the set of characteristics of each software component, where determining the primary software component further includes comparing the set of characteristics of each software component and selecting the primary software component based on the set of characteristics with a highest priority; and instructing, by the manager module, the one or more processors to cause functionality associated with the second software component to be at least partially suspended.

Systems and techniques are provided for managing and categorizing undesired phone calls and text messages. In a specific implementation, information indicating that an electronic communication received at a mobile communications device of each user in the crowd should belong in a specific category is received from a crowd. If a number of users in the crowd exceeds a threshold value, information identifying the electronic communication is stored in a database as belonging in the specific category. The database is provided to a mobile communications device of a user, where when the electronic communication is transmitted to the mobile communications device of the user, the electronic communication is blocked at the mobile communications device of the user because the electronic communication is in the specific category.

System and method for mobile communications blocking based on crowd sourced information

Systems and techniques are provided for managing and categorizing undesired phone calls and text messages. In a specific implementation, an electronic communication identified by a phone number is intercepted at a mobile communications device before the electronic communication is received by an application program on the device. The phone number is sent to a server for the server to identify a category associated with the phone number. The category is received at the mobile communication device. Based on the received category, a determination is made as to whether the application program should be allowed to receive the electronic communication. If allowed, the electronic communication is forwarded to the application program; else, the electronic communication is not forwarded.

System and method for call blocking and SMS blocking

A golf putting practice aid has a rectangular base frame that serves as a stroke window for shot set-up and aiming purposes. A side frame is movably mounted on the base frame for pivotal movement from a folded, minimum profile storage configuration to an upright operative putting position. The side frame includes an elongated guide bar disposed in parallel alignment with the longitudinal axis of the stroke window for engaging and guiding pendulum movement of a putter shaft during execution of a putting stroke. The slope angle of the side frame relative to the base frame, and thus the elevation of the guide bar, is manually adjustable to suit the golfer's personal swing preference and putter selection. The guide bar and one of the base rails are marked with colored bands for indicating back swing stroke range and follow-through stroke range.

Golf putting practice aid

A navigation-satellite receiver network comprises a server connected to the Internet to provide real-time correction information to clients. The server includes a GPS receiver that provides for tracking of a constellation of navigation satellites. When a client is online, it can receive satellite position and velocity information in the form of a polynomial and coefficients. Clock, ionosphere, troposphere, and other corrections are all bundled into one polynomial. The client therefore never computes or uses almanac or ephemeris.

Total correction strategy

A navigation-satellite receiver comprises means for initialization that gets a head start by knowing time to within a few seconds and position to within 150 kilometers. A two-dimensional grid of points is setup with constant altitude that represents solution starting points within the 150 kilometer area. Fractional pseudoranges from each satellite in a constellation are inspected for a best initial fit with the points in the grid. A variety of time bias adjustments within the time bounds are also tried against the points to find a best fitting point. That point then is used in a drive to find the final solution and to produce the first fix from cold start.
