A quick connector coupling assembly includes a retainer to connect a rigid tube to a hollow body component. A sleeve extending between a fluid sealing member and the retainer includes a rearward abutment surface in abutting contact with the retainer. The retainer locking arms include forward abutment surfaces in abutting relation with the tube upset and forward abutment surfaces in abutting relation with the sleeve. An insertion verifier includes a ring portion with axially extending legs positioned in the slots between the retainer locking arms. At least one leg includes a releasable latch engaged with the retainer in the slots between the locking arms. Guide elements on the retainer and insertion verifier align the verifier legs and retainer slots on insertion of the verifier.

Quick connector for high pressure applications

A modular thermal management system for a battery in an electric vehicle is provided. In one embodiment, a modular thermal management system for a battery in an electric vehicle is provided. The modular system includes a plurality of manifold segments. Each of the manifold segments further comprises a plurality of fluid ports adapted to connect to a heat exchanger fin for a battery cell. Each manifold segment corresponds to a battery stack comprised of a plurality cells and heat exchanger fins. At least one manifold clip is provided for securing two adjacent manifold segments together. The manifold clip bridges the coupling joint and engages retention features on each of the two manifold segments in order to inhibiting separation longitudinally between the two manifold segments. A plurality of manifold clips are configured to secure a plurality of manifold segments together accommodate a plurality of battery stack configurations.

Modular fluid transport system

A quick connector coupling for a fluid line includes a female connector body defining a through bore, a tubular male member with a raised annular upset, and a retainer demountably coupled to the connector body. A seal assembly provides a fluid tight seal between the tube and body bore. A separate outer spacer is secured to the body to receive axial load of the seal assembly. The body defines spaced arcuate locking ledges having axially inward facing radial locking surfaces. The outer spacer is a continuous annular element includes an integral radial ring defining an annular axially outward facing radial abutment surface in radial abutting relation to the locking surfaces of said body ledges.

Quick connector with seal assembly retainer

A quick connector coupling to releasably connect a rigid tube into a hollow body component bore with a resilient seal member creating a fluid tight seal. A seat member retainer includes legs abutting the body component. It includes an insertion sleeve that receives the axial insertion forces to insert the seal member retainer into the bore. A protective cap is arranged to contain preassembled seal and retainer components for assembly onto the rigid tube.

A quick connector coupling assembly comprising a body, a tube, and a retainer to secure the tube in the body. The body defines an internal cavity extending from an opening. The tube has an endform extending through the opening and into the internal cavity. The endform has a tip and an engagement surface. The engagement surface of the endform coacts with a locking surface associated with the body or the retainer to resist rotational movement of the tube relative to the body.

Anti-rotation quick connector

A fluid coupling assembly is disclosed comprising a connector body defining a bore extending axially forward from an entrance opening, a tubular male member with an upset, a seal member, and a retainer. The retainer is received within the bore and includes locking members to releaseably retain the tube. The retainer includes a forward extension to support the seal against fluid pressure. The retainer and seal are configured to be applied to the male member before insertion of the male member into the bore of the connector body. Two of the locking members include ramps extending radially outwardly to contact the body portion defining the entrance opening sequentially prior to contact by the locking arms of the other locking members. A removable protective cap attaches the retainer and seal onto a tube end and covers these components prior to assembly. The retainer, seal member and protective cap cannot be assembled onto the tube end unless the seal is present within the protective cap.

Protective cap for quick connector

A non-serviceable coupling includes a body with a tube receiving end bore and a hose receiving end bore. The tube includes a radial upset with a seal and spacer supported on the tube. The outer cylindrical surface of the tube is press fit into the reduced diameter bore at the tube receiving end to connect the coupling to the tube. The coupling body is crimped to the tube and to the hose to secure the hose and tube to the coupling. The tube is axially restrained between the crimp and an annular wall in contact with the tube end. In another embodiment, a second seal, outward of the upset is employed to prevent entry of contaminants.

Non-serviceable fluid coupling

A quick connector coupling assembly to connect a rigid tube to a hollow body component. A retainer releasably retains the tube within a bore in the body. A resilient seal member surrounds the tube and creates a fluid tight seal against the tube and the body defining the bore. A seal member retainer interposed between the seal member and the body transfers axial load on the seal due to pressure to the body. In one embodiment a polyfluoroethelene spacer is interposed between the seal member and the seal member retainer.

A quick connector coupling assembly to connect a rigid tube to a hollow body component. A retainer releasably retains the tube within a bore in the body. A resilient seal member surrounds the tube and creates a fluid tight seal against the tube and the body defining the bore. A sleeve extends between the seal member and the retainer and transfers axial load on the seal due to pressure to the retainer. In one embodiment a Teflon spacer is interposed between the seal member and the sleeve. A stuffer pin preassembles the sealing and retention elements for insertion into the connector body.

Quick connector for high pressure applications, assembly tool and method

A fitting or coupling to connect a rigid tube to a flexible hose. It has a through bore and includes a quick connector port at one end and a crimp collar at the other. In one form the coupling includes multiple quick connector ports.

Coupling assembly for tubing and hose connections

A fluid coupling assembly comprising a connector body defining a bore extending axially forward from an entrance opening, a tubular male member with an upset, a seal member, and a retainer. The retainer is received within the bore and includes locking members to releaseably retain the tube. The retainer includes a forward extension to support the seal against fluid pressure. The retainer and seal are configured to be applied to the male member before insertion of the male member into the bore of the connector body. Two of the locking members include ramps extending radially outwardly to contact the body portion defining the entrance opening sequentially prior to contact by the locking arms of the other locking members.

Quick connector

A fluid coupling for high pressure applications comprising a female connector body, a plastic retainer and a tubular male member with a radially enlarged upset. The female connector body defines a bore extending axially inwardly into the connector body from an entrance. The plastic retainer received within the female connector body includes a cylindrical ring at a first axial end and at least four approximately equally spaced locking members extending axially from the ring separated by slots and detached from each other at a second axial end. Each locking member includes two columns, a beam connecting the two columns at the second axial end and an arm extending axially from the beam between the columns. The arm includes a first abutment surface and a second abutment surface.

A connector for receiving a tube end having at least one radially enlarged upset. The connector comprises a hollow female connector body and a retainer disposed in the connector body. The retainer has an annular inner base ring defining a cylindrical surface to receive the tube end. The retainer further defines compressive members. The base ring has a limit surface facing the compressive members and a chamfer intersecting the limit surface and the cylindrical surface. The compressive members define an inner diameter and a space between the limit surface and the compressive members for securing the radially enlarged upset in the connector body. The inner diameter of the compressive members is at least as large as the diameter of the intersection of the chamfer with the limit surface.

Quick connect retainer having tolerance for wide band of male tube dimensions

A quick connector coupling comprises a hollow connector body and a male tube received and secured in the connector body. The male tube has a radially enlarged upset. A retainer is disposed in the connector body and has an inner base ring through which the male tube extends. The retainer also has compressive members which abut a shoulder formed in the connector body to secure the retainer in the connector body. The compressive members extend towards the base ring and terminate before reaching the base ring to define a space between the compressive members and the base ring. The upset is captured in this space thereby securing the male tube in the connector body. A chamfer is formed in the base ring to provide tolerance for a wider band of male tube dimensions.

A quick connector coupling for a fluid line includes a hollow female connector body defining an interior radial bearing surface. A male member has a radially enlarged upset and is insertable into the connector body to a first position and withdrawable from the first position to a second position within the connector body. A retainer is disposed in the connector body and has retention beams extending between the upset and the bearing surface to secure the retainer and the male member in the connector body. A ring-shaped indicator member is detachably secured to one end of the connector body. Withdrawal of the male member from the first position to the second position causes detachment of the indicator member from the connector body and signals a proper coupling.
