Methods and systems of operating a blockchain mining device using natural gas produced at a hydrocarbon production, storage, or processing site/facility. A generator may be retrofitted to an existing prime mover used to pump the well, and the generator may be used to power the blockchain mining device. Portable mining devices may be hooked up to a casinghead gas supply at a remote, isolated oil facility. Power loading levels may be modulated by adjusting mining transaction levels to correspond with combustible gas production levels.

Portable blockchain mining systems and methods of use are discussed here. Systems include a portable building; a plurality of blockchain mining processors mounted within, or a plurality of blockchain mining processor mounts located within, an interior of the portable building; an air inlet defined in the portable building; and an air outlet defined in the portable building. Air outlets may be above the air inlet and oriented to direct exhaust air in an upward direction out of the portable building. A cooling fan may be connected to convey air through the air inlet, across the plurality of blockchain mining processors and out the air outlet. The cooling fan may simultaneously cool a genset and processors. Compact, stackable mining modules are discussed.

Progressing cavity pump and methods of operation

An apparatus and method for pressure testing a tubing string of a fluid production well, the tubing string being provided with a progressing cavity pump at a downhole end, which apparatus and method can be used to help determine whether the tubing string has failed or the pump has failed. The apparatus comprises a plug member connected to the rod string assembly that includes the pump rotor, such that the rod string assembly can be lowered to seat the plug member in a seat member within the tubing string above the pump, thus sealing off and isolating the pump from the rest of the tubing string, allowing pressure testing of the tubing string above the pump.

A method for operating a progressive cavity pump wherein the stator has at least first and second active stator sections that are at different locations on the stator, comprising inserting a first rotor having a first active rotor section that is aligned with the first active stator section, and rotating the first rotor relative to the first active stator section such that the aligned first active rotor and stator sections generate a pumping force. Subsequently, the first rotor is removed and a second rotor is inserted having a second active rotor section that is aligned with the second active stator section, and rotating the second rotor relative to the second active stator section such that the aligned second active rotor and stator sections generate a pumping force.
