The optoelectronic transceiver includes an optoelectronic transmitter, an optoelectronic receiver, memory, and an interface. The memory is configured to store digital values representative of operating conditions of the optoelectronic transceiver. The interface is configured to receive from a host a request for data associated with a particular memory address, and respond to the host with a specific digital value of the digital values. The specific digital value is associated with the particular memory address received form the host. The optoelectronic transceiver may further include comparison logic configured to compare the digital values with limit values to generate flag values, wherein the flag values are stored as digital values in the memory. The flag values may include: a high temperature warning flag, a low temperature warning flag, a high internal supply voltage warning flag, a low internal supply voltage warning flag, a high transmitter bias current warning flag, a low transmitter bias current warning flag, a high transmitter power warning flag, a low transmitter bias warning flag; a high received optical power warning flag, and a low received optical power warning flag.

The components include an optical transmitter, an optical receiver, and a power controller integrated circuit (IC). A plurality of the control functions and a plurality of the monitoring functions of the controller are exercised by a host computer by accessing corresponding memory mapped locations within the controller.

The present invention relates to dispensing chemicals from a multiplexed group of chemicals and delivering the chemicals to a multiplexed set of industrial washers. An input multiplexer operatively couples a selected system input tube to a chemical pump, thereby permitting a selected liquid chemical to be pumped from a chemical container through the chemical delivery system to a selected washer.

The present invention is an improved flow-metered pumping system using an air-backed diaphragm pump with load compensation. A variable motor speed controller is used to compensate for flow rate reduction caused by pressure effects. When the output pressure on the pump increases to a point where the load on the pump motor exceeds a specified threshold, the motor speed controller increases the speed of the motor to compensate for pressure induced diaphragm distortion losses and to achieve a substantially constant flow rate across a range of pump output pressures.

A liquid chemical delivery system automatically delivers viscous chemicals to a number of destinations, such as a number of industrial clothes washers. Several distinct chemicals are pumped, one at a time, into a manifold. The chemical being pumped is mixed with water in the manifold and then transported through a distribution line to its specified destination. By mixing the chemicals with water, viscous chemicals are diluted and delivered using a low pressure delivery system. A single flow meter is used to calibrate all the chemical metering pumps and to recalibrate those pumps periodically, thereby providing accurate chemical metering. The manifold and distribution tube are automatically flushed with water after every chemical delivery so as to reduce corrosion and maintenance costs. In addition, potentially reactive chemicals are kept separate from one another despite the use of only a single distribution line. The system uses a proof-of-flow conductivity meter in the manifold to confirm the presence of each specified chemical in the manifold during the chemical pumping process. Local proof-of-delivery conductivity meters at the system's output ports are used to verify delivery of each chemical to the specified output port.

Microprocessor controlled liquid chemical delivery system and method

A system for cleaning cone/shake makers in place. Cone/shake makers have at least one freezer for making ice cream cones or milk shakes. Each freezer has a product inlet, a product pump for pumping product from the inlet into the freezer, and at least one draw valve for dispensing the product in the freezer. The cleaning system has a mixing tank for mixing water with a cleansing chemical, the mixing tank having a capacity of less than one-fourth the volume of the water and cleansing chemical mixture to be used while cleaning a cone/shake maker. The system controllably provides the cleansing chemical to the mixing tank at a rate corresponding to the rate at which water flow into the mixing tank, thereby making a cleansing chemical solution of predefined concentration on the fly as the mixture is being used to clean the cone/shake maker. The system monitors the conductivity of the water/cleansing solution and generates an error message if the conductivity falls outside a specified range for at least a threshold period of time, thereby providing the user with a warning that the system is having a chemical dispensing problem. The cleaning system includes a draw valve actuator for each of cone/shake maker's draw valves and a controller for opening and closing these draw valves in accordance with a specified schedule.

Clean in place system

A chemical dispenser and controller for industrial dishwashers. The level of detergent concentration in the dishwasher wash water is measured in logarithmically scaled unit, and the target detergent concentration level is specified in similar units. The dishwasher's controller converts wash water conductivity measurements into logarithmically scaled detergent concentration measurements. The unit of measurement for these logarithmically scaled measurements are called 'Beta' units. The controller also monitors the detergent concentration level and generates an alarm if the measured detergent concentration fails to increase by at least a predefined amount while the detergent feeding mechanism is turned on. Another feature of the controller is that it generates an alarm if the measured detergent concentration fails to reach its target level after the detergent feeding mechanism has been on for a predetermined time period. Further, the controller includes different control strategies for conveyor and batch type dishwashers, including a control method for conserving rinse agent and detergent in batch type dishwashers.
