Methods and systems are disclosed that create user interface (UI) instances for corresponding input/output resources, such as display resources, and each of these UI instances have separate lifecycle states or information maintained by the respective UI instances. System processes for the display resources (e.g. different displays or different windows for the same display devices) can control access to their respective display resource and can report changes in the lifecycle states to their respective UI interface.

Disclosed herein is a technique that can selectively display secure content on a computing device. The technique can detect both lock and unlock events and issue appropriate control signals that cause an application to display a more secure version of the application when necessary based on a particular UI context file. The UI context file can specify a configuration that includes pre-configured hidden or removed UI elements that do not need to be adjusted at runtime. Moreover, the technique can seamlessly pivot to a different UI context file that specifies a configuration of the application that allows the user to experience the full-capabilities of the application when the computing device is in an unlocked-mode.

Techniques for displaying secure content for an application through user interface context file switching

Embodiments of the present disclosure present devices, methods, and computer readable medium for techniques to display rectangular content in non-rectangular display areas without clipping or cutting off the content. These bounding path techniques can be employed for electronic devices with rounded corners and for display of content within software windows for applications, in which the windows have non-rectangular corners. The techniques disclosed include content shifting, aspect fit, run length encoding and corner encoding. These techniques can be applied to both static content and for dynamic content. Memory optimization techniques are disclosed to reduce the memory requirements for encoding display bitmaps and for optimal performance. The run length encoding feature can reduce the time and decrease the memory requirements for determining a location where the content can fit within a viewable area of the display. The corner encoding technique provides for encoding areas with non-linear curves.
