Provided herein are cleaning compositions that are particle-free. The compositions comprises a solution containing one or more alkyl polyglucosides and one or more 2-propylheptanol alkoxylates, wherein the one or more 2-propylheptanol alkoxylates have a relatively low hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value. Also provided are methods of making and using same.

Cleaning compositions comprising low HLB 2-propyl heptyl alcohol alkoxylates and alkyl polyglucosides

The invention is drawn to fluid concentrate formulations of fatty acid monoethanolamides comprising (a) about 71-76% by weight of one or more C8-C22 fatty acid monoethanolamides, (b) about 15-17% by weight of water, and (c) about 10-12% by weight of one or more hydrotropes, based on the fluid formulation, wherein the fluid formulation is homogeneous, pumpable and color stable at a temperature of less than 55&#xb0; C. A preferred embodiment is drawn to fluid concentrate formulations of cocamide monoethanolamide (CMEA) consisting of (a) about 71-76% by weight of CMEA, (b) about 15-17% by weight of water, and (c) about 10-12% by weight of glycerol, based on the fluid formulation. Methods of preparing the fluid concentrate formulations mulations are also disclosed. The fluid concentrate formulations of fatty acid monoethanolamides are useful in the preparation of cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions.

Polymers which are suitable for use in cleaning compositions are described. The polymers are comprised of at least three different monomers. The types of monomers and ratios of the monomers in the polymers are further disclosed. Cleaning compositions containing the polymers for treating various surfaces and for use in various applications are also provided.

Disclosed is a hard surface cleaning composition employing dibasic esters as a primary solvent in combination with a primary emulsifier, a short-chain cosurfactant, a secondary emulsifier and water. Optional components include a polar solvent and a thickener. The disclosed composition is preferably in the form of an oil continuous microemulsion and is provided as a component of a liquid or spray formulation for use, depending upon the application. The disclosed cleaning agents have a low odor and satisfy the 2005 CARB VOC requirements of less than 8% by weight for oven cleaners.

Low odor ester-based microemulsions for cleaning hard surfaces

A surfactant composition including an alkyl polyglycoside, an ethoxylated alcohol with an average of about 1 to about 30 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of alcohol, and an alkoxylated alcohol with an average of about 1 to about 30 moles of ethylene oxide and about 2 to about 60 moles of propylene oxide per mole of alcohol, with a ratio of moles of ethylene oxide to moles of propylene oxide of about 1:2 is provided. Terpene-free hard surface cleaning compositions comprised of a C -C alkyl ester of a C -C saturated or unsaturated carboxylic acid and a surfactant having an HLB of from about 4 to about 10 are effective in cleaning hard surfaces. Terpene-free microemulsions having improved high and low temperature stability are also effective for cleaning hard surfaces and are comprised of an anionic surfactant; a primary solvent consisting of a C -C alkyl ester of a C -C saturated or unsaturated carboxylic acid and a short-chain cosurfactant. The disclosed cleaning compositions are especially effective in removing graffiti and paint from surfaces.
