Systems and methods for detecting patterns in data from a time-series are provided. In one implementation, a method for pattern detection includes obtaining data in a time-series and creating one-dimensional or multi-dimensional windows from the time-series data. The one-dimensional or multi-dimensional windows are created either independently or jointly with the time-series. The method also includes training a deep neural network with the one-dimensional or multi-dimensional windows utilizing historical and/or simulated data to provide a neural network model. Also, the method includes processing ongoing data with the neural network model to detect one or more patterns of a particular category in the ongoing data, and localizing the one or more patterns in time.

Systems and methods for ring protection switching in a network based on selectively blocking and unblocking a port include forwarding traffic via the port over a data channel that utilizes a first service identifier, wherein the data channel is routed in the network along a closed loop; and selectively blocking and unblocking traffic on the port to provide the ring protection switching over the closed loop, wherein the selectively blocking and unblocking is performed based on a management channel that utilizes a second service identifier that is a different type from the first service identifier.

A method and apparatus for controlling bandwidth in a Virtual Private Network assigns and allocates transmission bandwidth to packet VPNs for either connectionless or connection-oriented communication. The method creates two views of transmission facilities: a user plane view and a control plane view. In the user plane view, the bandwidth of the transmission facility is split into quantified and identified partitions. In the control plane view, transmission facilities are represented as logical links forming a topology that can be used for the purpose of routing the VPN. The two views are tied together by assigning user plane partitions to VPN control plane links. As a result, the allocation of bandwidth to VPNs becomes a controllable and viewable entity, thereby facilitating management and QoS provisioning in a VPN network.

Method and apparatus for assigning and allocating network resources to packet-based virtual private networks

A network includes a plurality of interconnected nodes utilizing an all-broadcast architecture for a plurality of wavelengths therebetween; a routing protocol configured to compute a loop-free path through the plurality of interconnected nodes, wherein the loop-free path is computed for at least one wavelength of the plurality of wavelengths using routing constructs adapted to a photonic domain; and at least one blocking element configured to selectively block the at least one wavelength based on the computed loop-free path. Software defined networking photonic routing systems and methods

Call Control entities in a network communicate between themselves by amending call processing messages to include encrypted network information. As such, a call may be established whose path through the network is dependent on the paths of other calls. Information of a scope larger than a Call Controller normally possesses can, as a result of this communication, be made available to Call Controllers for constraining call establishment. This information could relate to other calls and connections associated with those other calls. The information may also relate to gateways in and to adjacent networks and the Call Controllers in the adjacent networks that are related to the current Call Controller.

Communication between call controllers by amending call processing messages

Network resources are assigned as dedicated, shared, or public network resources. The resources are then allocated to L1-VPN subscribers on demand. Splitting assignment of the resources from allocation of the resources enables resources to be assigned to more than one subscriber on the network. Temporary physical dedication of the resources to one of the subscribers may be accomplished by allocating the assigned resources on demand, so that particular subscribers are provided with dedicated resources on an as-needed basis. Dedication of the network resources allows the network resources to be configured, managed, and controlled by the customers. The network resources may be optical resources and the links may be time slots on particular fibers. Optionally, by enabling prioritization to cause displacement of link allocations, additional flexibility may be obtained in allocating links to L1-VPNs such as by allowing the use of private and shared resources by other subscribers.

Method and apparatus for assigning and allocating network resources to layer 1 Virtual Private Networks

A photonic network includes a plurality of nodes each supporting add and drop of at least Y wavelengths, a plurality of optical links interconnecting the plurality of nodes, the plurality of optical links support up to X wavelengths and Y&#x2266;X, an optical routing protocol configured to compute a loop-free path through the plurality of nodes on the plurality of links, the loop-free path is computed for one of the X wavelengths or a group of the X wavelengths using routing constructs adapted to a photonic domain, and optical components at each of the plurality of nodes configured to selectively block at least one of the X wavelengths based on the computed loop-free path. A photonic routing method and photonic node are also disclosed.

Photonic routing systems and methods for loop avoidance

An aspect of the present invention provides a method of controlling a multi-layer transport network. In accordance with the invention a determination is made as to whether a connection supporting a performance requirement of a call can be established within a first layer of the network. If the connection cannot be established, an association is defined between the call and a second call instantiated within a respective server layer of the network. By this means a network call controller in a client layer relies on a call and connection in a server layer instead of a connection in the client layer.
