A socket assembly includes a photovoltaic package having a substrate with a photovoltaic cell and contact pads electrically connected to the photovoltaic cell. A dielectric housing removably receives the photovoltaic package. The dielectric housing holds contacts in mating engagement with the contact pads. A metal shell receives the housing and the photovoltaic package, and the metal shell has a window providing access to the photovoltaic cell.

Socket assembly for a photovoltaic package

A LED module and interconnection system is disclosed. The LED module includes a lens, a housing, and a printed circuit board PCB having at least on LED disposed within the housing. The housing includes a plurality of openings providing physical and electrical access to the PCB. The interconnection system includes at least one LED module and a cable assembly. The cable assembly is configured to provide electrical connectivity to the LED module through an opening in the LED module housing.

A low profile photovoltaic connection system for placement in space restricted areas. The connection system includes a connection box, diodes, and heat sinks inside of the connection box. The heat sink element is maintained in contact with the diode element such that the heat sink dissipates heat externally of the junction box and the contacts are arranged with a flat surface parallel to the solar panel to reduce vertical elevation of the junction box when mounted to the solar panel.

Low profile photovoltaic (LPPV) box

A connector assembly for a photovoltaic module includes a locator having a support rib configured to hold a buss of the photovoltaic module, and a connector housing holding a contact. The connector housing is configured to be mounted to the photovoltaic module over the locator such that the contact is mated to the buss in a press-fit connection.

A connecting box, gland nut, and electrical connector for the solar connector industry is disclosed. The connecting box, the gland nut, and the electrical connector require a tool to disengage, are being resistant to external environmental stressors, and/or provide the ability to monitor information regarding the connecting box, the gland nut, and/or the electrical connector.

Solar box and two position solar connectors

A connector is provided for terminating an end portion of a cable that includes a conductor. The connector includes a housing and a contact held by the housing. The contact is configured to be connected to the conductor of the cable. A keying member is rotatably held by the housing. The keying member is configured to cooperate with a keying element of a mating connector that mates with the connector. The keying member is movable about the housing such that the keying member is rotatably positioned to align with the keying element of the mating connector.

An electrical connector includes a housing, a cable, a contact and an encapsulant. The housing extends from a cable exit to an opposite end along a longitudinal axis and from a mounting face to a top face along a vertical axis. The housing includes a cable opening that extends into the cable exit in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis and a window extending into the housing from the top face toward the mounting face in a direction parallel to the vertical axis. The cable extends through the window and into the housing through the cable opening. The contact is held by the housing and is configured to electrically couple the cable with a mating device when the housing face of the housing is mounted to the mating device. The encapsulant is disposed within the window to seal an interface between the cable and the housing. The encapsulant prevents ingress of moisture into the housing through the interface.

A low-profile electrical connector and connector system having a connector body. The connector body includes at least one bussing interconnection capable of electrically connecting to electrical devices and including at least one structure configured to receive a receptacle body having a plurality of arms configured to apply a contact force in the direction of an opposing plate. The connector body also includes an opening configured to receive a corresponding plug. The connector body further includes a plurality of latch arms having features that engage the plug and extension arms extending from the body and being in close proximity with the latch arms. The engagement of the opening and the corresponding plug form a seal that substantially prevents the infiltration of moisture into the connector body.

Bussing connector

A bridge and cable harness assembly to protect bus bar apparatuses from foreign object exposure and further, electrical shorts. The assembly provides an apparatus that is configured based on the specific arrangement of the bus bar. The user determined how many bridge assemblies are necessary to protect the bus bars. The bus bars and bridges are secured to each other either by apertures in bus bars that accepts protrusions of bridges which are heat staked, or where the bus bars are overmolded into the insulative bridge material. Screws are used to make a final assembly into the board-mounted connectors.

A low-profile electrical connector having a connector body with a bussing interconnection. The bussing interconnection includes a first receptacle and a second receptacle. The first receptacle is in electrical communication with the second receptacle. The connector body also includes an alignment mechanism configured to align and retain a corresponding plug. At least one of the first receptacle or the second receptacle includes a receptacle body having a plurality of arms configured to apply a contact force in the direction of an opposing plate.

A coaxial connector has inner and outer contacts () connected to inner and outer conductors () of a coaxial cable (), in a contact arrangement of small diameter (A), so each coax contact arrangements can carry high frequency signals. The outer contact has a rear portion () lying within the cable outer conductor () and locked in place by a crimp sleeve (), and the outer contact has a front portion () that projects forward of a housing front face () and that has laterally opposite sides () that are exposed to be contacted. The housing has a forward projection () with projection portions () that lie on longitudinally (M) opposite sides of the outer contact front portion and that have projection front ends that merge and support the center contact () at a location forward of the outer conductor.

High density RF connector system

A solar grounding connector for capturing a wire. The connector includes a base and a stuffer. The base is made from a conductive metal and includes a base plate. The base plate includes means for assembling the base to a solar panel. A pair of opposed sidewalls extend at an angle from the base plate, each sidewall including a slot of preselected size. The stuffer is pivotably mounted to the base. The stuffer includes a top surface, and a pair of opposed sidewalls extending from the stuffer top surface toward the base plate. Each stuffer sidewall has a slot corresponding to the slot in the base sidewall, each opposed stuffer sidewall being adjacent to a base sidewall when engaged. The slot in the stuffer sidewalls urge a wire against the corresponding slots in the base sidewalls, exerting a force on the wire sufficient to establish electrical contact between the wire and the base. The grounding connector also includes means for fastening the stuffer with respect to the base. The solar grounding connector is attached to a solar panel frame, while the wire has one end connected to ground.

Self-locking wire termination clip

A circuit board () is installed and locked in place in a connector housing () which has a board-receiving slot () defined by side guides () that closely engage upper and lower surfaces of the board during its forward insertion into the slot. The front portion of the board has a through aperture (), and the housing has a ramp () that can fit into the aperture. As the forwardly-sliding board approaches a fully installed position, the ramp bends the front portion of the board as it rides up the ramp, until the aperture walls snap around the ramp and the board front portion unbends. The board can be slid backward out of the slot, only by bending up the board front portion and sliding it rearward.

PCB retention mechanism

A fiber optic connector system in which two fiber optic connectors () mate within a cabinet () and each one can be withdrawn for cleaning. Each connector is part of a connector assembly () that includes a mounting bracket () fixed to a corresponding daughterboard (). A motherboard structure () is mounted in the cabinet and has holes. Each daughterboard is slid into an opposite end of the cabinet until its connector passes partially through a motherboard hole and mates to the other connector. A pair of standoffs () coupled to each connector limits inward movement of each connector to a position at which the tips of mating termini each lies halfway through an alignment sleeve.

Fiber optic connector with mating features

An optic fiber connection system in which a first connector () on a daughter board () can slide towards a second connector () on a mother board () until the daughter board is latched and the connectors are fully mated, which assures proper mating despite overtravel or undertravel of the daughter board. The first connector has a frame () fixed to the daughter board and a first connector body () that is slideable within the frame (), against the biasing of body springs (), so the body does not have to move further forward while the frame and daughter board continue to move forward to a fully installed daughter board position.
