A magnetic screw device that includes a fastening stem, a housing, a magnet assembly, and one or more magnets. The housing is configured to receive the fastening stem, such that the housing can rotate and angulate relative to the fastening stem. The housing is also configured to secure the magnet assembly. The magnet assembly contains two magnet holders that are each configured to receive one of the two magnets. The magnetic screw device can be used in a method of treating a spine with an abnormal curvature.

Device and treatment of abnormal spine curvature

An intervertebral disc replacement device comprising a superior plate and an inferior plate, in which each plate contains one or more embedded magnets. The one or more magnets in the superior plate and the one or more magnet in the inferior plate are oriented such that a magnetic force exists between the one or more magnets in the superior plate and the one or more magnet in the inferior plate. In addition, an intervertebral disc replacement device comprising a superior plate and an inferior plate, in which each plate contains one or more embedded magnets, and the plates are designed to form an articulating surface. Further, an intervertebral disc replacement device comprising a superior plate, an inferior plate, and a spacer, in which each plate contains one or more embedded magnets, and the superior and inferior plates are designed to form articulating surfaces with the spacer.

Magnetic intervertebral disc replacement devices and methods thereof

A bone screw comprising a shaft, in which the shaft comprises a bore that is configured to fit a magnet. In addition, a bone plate comprising apertures that can fit the bone screw. The bone plate may be fastened to bone using the bone screws, and the bone screws may be oriented to generate attractive or repulsive forces.

Magnetic screw and plate apparatus

Prosthetic implant devices and related methods are provided. The prosthetic implant devices include an internal component and an external component. The internal component has an implant portion associated with one or more rare earth magnets. The internal component being of a size and shape suitable for surgical implantation into the residual limb of the amputee. The one or more rare earth magnets generate at least one magnetic field. The external component having a prosthetic piston associated with a plurality of magnetic elements and a prosthetic cup associated with a magnetic array. The magnet elements of the prosthetic piston being in adaptable magnetic association with the at least one magnetic field generated by the one or more rare earth magnets.

Magnetic prosthetic implants and methods thereof

Methods of reducing loading across a cartilaginous joint, or of reducing pain in a cartilaginous joint caused by cartilage damage in the joint. The methods involve implanting one or more magnetic devices in the bones, or affixing one or more magnetic devices onto the surface of the bones, that form the joint. For example, to reduce loading or reduce pain in a knee joint, one or more magnetic devices maybe implanted in the femur and in the tibia. The magnetic devices are oriented to generate a repulsive magnetic force between the one or more magnetic devices of each of the bones forming the joint.

Magnetic devices for reducing loading across cartilaginous joints

A device for treatment of the spine comprising one or more vertebral attachments, in which the vertebral attachments contain one or more magnets that provide physiologic attractive or repulsive forces to affect the interaction between adjacent vertebrae. The vertebral attachments may also comprise one or more connecting components that affix the magnets to the vertebrae. In addition, there are methods for treatment of the spine comprising implantation of the device.

Internal magnetic traction device for the cervical seine

Prosthetic implant devices and related methods are provided. The prosthetic implant devices includes an internal component and an external component. Facet screws comprise a lower portion have lower threads that have a constant outer or major diameter. The lower portion of the facet screws can also have a tapered or conical shape in a direction toward the lower end, and relative to a longitudinal axis, of the facet screw. Therefore, the lower threads closest to the lower end have a greater surface area for engaging the bone of a patient as compared to the lower threads furthest away from the lower end, i.e., closest to the top of the lower threads. One or more of the lower threads also can include certain dimensions and shapes that facilitate insertion and retention of the facet screws in the bone of a patient.

Trochlear implants and methods of use

This disclosure provides a plate having at least a first aperture and a second aperture, and at least a first annulus adaptable to be disposed within the first aperture and at least a second annulus adaptable to be disposed within the second aperture. Further provided is at least a first screw adaptable to be disposed within the first annulus and at least a second screw adaptable to be disposed within the second annulus, wherein the first and second screws are each engageable with its respective first and second annulus.

Method of use of trochlear implants

Implant devices having an articular end for repair of articular cartilage defects are provided. The articular end has an oval perimeter, a convex upper face, and a concave lower face. The convex upper face has a first circular pitch radius and a first circular roll radius. At least a portion of the concave lower face has a spherical radius, the convex upper face blending into a rim, wherein at least a first and second portion of the rim extends at least a first distance along a vertical axis and a third and fourth portion of the rim tapers inward along the vertical axis, the rim blending into the concave lower face. The articular cartilage implant devices further include a stem extending from the concave lower face away from the convex upper face along the vertical axis. The stem has a plurality of oval shaped perimeters along the vertical axis.
