An optical assembly includes a retention ring configured to couple an optic and a trim. The optic can receive light from a light source and include an optic coupler. The trim can surround the optic and direct the light away from the light source. The trim can include a trim coupler. The retention ring can tool-lessly couple with the optic and the trim. The retention ring can include an optic retention element configured to tool-lessly couple with the optic coupler to couple the optic to the retention ring; and a trim retention element spaced radially outwardly from the optic retention element. The trim retention element can tool-lessly couple with the trim coupler to couple the trim to the retention ring radially outwardly from the optic.

A light fixture mount including a base, a housing, a sled, and a latch rotatably coupled to the housing. The base defines an opening extending through the base. The housing is positioned on the base and defines a compartment, wherein an access opening is provided in the housing for access to the compartment. The sled is configured to be positioned at least partially within the compartment and includes a sled base configured to support a component for a light engine and a faceplate configured to cover the access opening of the housing. The latch is configured to rotate between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration, wherein the latch engages and secures the sled to the housing.

The present disclosure relates to systems that rely on a self-locking cover to limit access to narcotics. A self-locking cover may allow for a single access opportunity to a narcotics vial, which may be one or both original vials and waste vials. In some aspects, a self-locking cover may be incorporated into narcotics transportation and tracking mechanisms, which may allow for increased security against tampering or abuse of narcotics, particularly narcotics waste. Self-locking covers may prevent uninhibited and free access to waste narcotics, which may be susceptible to abuse.

A recessed lighting fixture includes an elongated body including a flange and a pair of swing arms. The swing arms are deployable between a stowed configuration adjacent to the elongated body, to a deployed configuration wherein the swing arms extend radially from the elongated body. In the deployed configuration the swing arms are translatable along threaded members extending along the elongated body in order to clamp a ceiling or other surface between the swing arms and the flange to secure the recessed lighting fixture into a hole in the ceiling. The swing arms comprise removable portions that can be used to increase the range of thicknesses of surface in which the recessed lighting fixture can be installed.

A recessed lighting unit includes a light engine and provides angular adjustment of the light emanating from the lighting unit. In one arrangement, the lighting unit includes a heat sink and a module frame that slidingly interact to provide rotation of the light engine in one degree of freedom, for example rotation about a horizontal axis. A rotation mechanism may also be provided for rotating the light engine in a second degree of freedom, for example rotation about the axis of a cylindrical recessed can in which the light engine is disposed. The lighting unit may be configured for use in new construction, or for retrofit applications.

A heat sink for a directional recessed lighting fixture, comprises a wedge-shaped rotatable inner heat sinkconfigured to fit within a hollow interior of an outer heat sink. The inner heat sink has an opening, for transmission of light from a light sourceit houses. The inner heat sink includes a gimbal shaftpivotally mounted to an inside wallof the outer heat sink. The inner heat sink has a vertical surfaceformed on one side, which is close to inside wall, when rotated in one direction (FIG.A) to direct light in a first direction. The inner heat sink has an angularly offset surfaceformed on an opposite side, which is close to the inside wall, when rotated in an opposite direction (FIG.B) to direct light in a second direction.

A recessed light fixture can include a movably adjustable light source and a thermal management system that includes a movable first heat sink, and a second heat sink. The first heat sink is thermally coupled to the adjustable light source, and is connected to move with the adjustable light source. The first heat sink includes a plurality of spaced apart first thermally conductive elements, such as fins. The second heat sink includes a plurality of spaced apart second thermally conductive elements, such as fins, which are interlaced between the first thermally conductive elements of the first heat sink. The interlaced thermally conductive elements increase surface area and heat transfer pathway(s) between the two heat sinks, while reducing physical contact, and thus friction, therebetween when movably adjusting the light source.

A recessed lighting optical holder for a recessed lighting fixture, comprises a retainerhaving a generally annular shape, including a resilient snap projectionformed on an inner circumference and resilient beamsupported at both ends on an outer circumference. The beam slides into engagement with a heat sink extensionon a bottom portion of a circular heat sink, when a top surface of the retainer is positioned against a bottom portion of the heat sink and the retainer is rotated with respect to the heat sink, to lock the retainer to the heat sink. An optichas a generally conical shape, with a bottom portion surrounded by circular lipthat snaps into holding engagement with the snap of the retainer, to positively retain the optic. The holder is relatively simple to manufacture and is conveniently accessible for installation and occasional maintenance or replacement.

A lighting mount assembly and method are disclosed to mount a recessed light fixture in an opening in a wall. The lighting mount assembly includes a mounting frame, and at least two adjustable brackets which are movable relative to the mounting frame. The mounting frame and the brackets cooperate to clamp a portion of the wall from opposing sides. Each of the brackets also includes a resilient member, such as a leg spring, which can be engaged to and disengaged from a portion of a light fixture, such as a groove, to hold or release the recessed light fixture in the wall opening.

A recessed light fixture, mountable on a wall, includes a trim, heat sink, fasteners and springs. The trim has a trim frame with a trim opening for a light source. The heat sink includes an open end which opens into a cavity to house a portion of the light source, and an interior surface with an interior groove that extends around the interior surface. Each spring has a first end and an opposing second end. The first end of the springs is connected to the trim frame with a fastener. The second end of the springs is inserted through the open end of the heat sink until the second end snaps into and engages the interior groove to connect the heat sink and the trim frame. The second end is movable along the interior groove to allow rotational adjustment of the trim frame relative to the heat sink.
