A motor drive assembly for a dual path electric powertrain of a machine is disclosed. The motor drive assembly may include a final drive assembly to engage a ground engaging element of the machine. The motor drive assembly may include an electric motor to provide torque to the final drive assembly. The motor drive assembly may include a planetary gear assembly mechanically coupled to a rotor shaft of the electric motor and an axle of the final drive assembly. The motor drive assembly may include a brake assembly to engage a component of the planetary gear assembly to retard the rotor shaft and the axle.

A hydraulic system for a machine is disclosed. The hydraulic system may have a tank configured to hold a supply of fluid, a pump configured to draw fluid from the tank and pressurize the fluid, a first cylinder operatively connected between a first side of a work tool and an undercarriage of the machine, and a second cylinder operatively connected between a second side of the work tool and the undercarriage of the machine. The hydraulic system may also have a first electro-hydraulic valve associated with the first cylinder and configured to selectively regulate a flow of pressurized fluid to the first cylinder independently of the second cylinder, and a second electro-hydraulic valve associated with the second cylinder and configured to selectively regulate a flow of pressurized fluid to the second cylinder independently of the first cylinder.

A ground engaging track for a track-type machine includes a set of identical standard track shoes each having a relatively narrow shoe footprint, and a sweeping track shoe having a relatively wide shoe footprint. The sweeping track shoe is connectable via track links with the standard track shoes in an endless chain configuration such that the sweeping track shoe juts outwardly of the standard track shoes, for sweeping debris from a clearance between the track and a main frame of the track-type machine. The sweeping track shoe includes bolting apertures formed therein and communicating between an upper shoe surface and a ground contacting shoe surface, the bolting apertures being arranged in a directional link bolting pattern. The directional link bolting pattern defines a minor shoe axis and a major shoe axis, and the sweeping shoe body may be configured such that an inboard sweeping edge is spaced further than an outboard edge from the minor shoe axis.

An electric powertrain includes an engine configured to provide mechanical energy and a generator operably coupled to the engine and configured to convert at least a portion of the mechanical energy into electric energy. The electric powertrain further includes at least one electric motor operably coupled to the generator, a plurality of driving members, and at least one power electronics unit configured to control at least one of the engine and the generator. The at least one electric motor is configured to provide torque for the plurality of driving members.

A method is provided for controlling power provided by a drive train system of a mobile machine, which includes an engine that provides engine power to a generator that, in turn, provides generator power to a motor. The motor provides ground power to a travel mechanism that enables the mobile machine to travel across a terrain surface. In one embodiment, the method includes adjusting operation of the motor based on a determined ground speed of the mobile machine. Based on the adjusted motor operations, the operation of the generator is adjusted. Also, the operation of the engine is adjusted such that the engine produces an amount of engine power that meets a load demand corresponding to the adjusted operation of the generator.

A speed of the machine is determined. A retarding requirement is determined based on the determined inclination and speed. A first portion of the retarding requirement is allocated to be met by the electric drive system, the first portion being less than or equal to a retarding capacity of the electric drive system. A second portion of the retarding requirement is allocated to be met by the mechanical brake system if the retarding requirement is greater than the retarding capacity of the electric drive system.
