Described herein are catheters for use in analyzing neural activity of nerves that surround a biological lumen. Such a catheter comprises a handle including a first, second, and third actuators, and a shaft extending from the handle and including proximal and distal electrodes that are selectively deployable. The first actuator is configured to selectively deploy the proximal electrode in response to the first actuator being manually maneuvered. The second actuator is configured to selectively deploy the distal electrode in response to the second actuator being manually maneuvered. The third actuator is configured to selectively adjust a longitudinal distance between the proximal and distal electrodes in response to the third actuator being manually maneuvered.

Catheter for neural measurements and treatment and related systems and methods

Mitral valve prolapse and mitral regurgitation can be treating by implanting in the mitral annulus a transvalvular intraannular band. The band has a first end, a first anchoring portion located proximate the first end, a second end, a second anchoring portion located proximate the second end, and a central portion. The central portion is positioned so that it extends transversely across a coaptive edge formed by the closure of the mitral valve leaflets. The band may be implanted via translumenal access or via thoracotomy.

A system for fixing a spatial relationship between medical instruments can include an interlock component including a body defining an aperture to receive and retain a first needle, a head connected to the body and defining a slot extending parallel to the aperture, and a first magnet at least partially surrounded by the head and disposed between the aperture and the slot. The system can also include a handle to receive and retain a second needle, the handle defining a retaining feature for receiving a portion of the interlock component and including a second magnet positioned adjacent to the retaining feature. The second magnet attracts the first magnet to retain the portion of the interlock component in the retaining feature such that the interlock component is oriented in a desired spatial relationship relative to the handle.
