A cannula assembly is removably mountable to a syringe body having a pair of side-by-side chambers; there being an opening into each chamber at a bottom of the syringe. The cannula assembly includes a connector and a dual lumen assembly extending from the connector. The dual lumen assembly includes a pair of tubes defining two fluid paths. The connector includes fluid paths which, when the cannula assembly is mounted to the syringe, place the fluid path of one of the tubes in fluid communication with one of the syringe body chambers and the fluid path of the other of the dual lumen tubes in fluid communication with the other of the syringe body chambers.

The Trike's unique power source is provided by a rowing-type motion of the user rather than the less efficient 'hand rim' grip or wrist propulsion. The rowing motion significantly reduces the chances for repetitive stress injuries, like carpal tunnel. Furthermore, the rowing motion and movements, are designed to facilitate efficient propulsion and steering in combination, to be effected simultaneously. The rowing motion allows the user's full arm strength and full range of motion to assist in the powering of the vehicle. The wheelchair also has a retractable fifth or propulsion wheel that allows the chair to be used in a confined space without sacrificing performance.

A combined irrigator-vacuum device includes a pump assembly mountable over a syringe or device body. The device body has a dividing wall which divides the body into a clean chamber and a waste chamber. Openings are formed at the bottom of the body to provide an inlet into said waste chamber and an outlet from said clean chamber. The pump assembly includes a housing and a compressible cover defining a pump chamber. A vacuum valve and an irrigation valve are positioned within the pump chamber above the syringe waste chamber and clean chamber, respectively. The pump is operable such that compression of the cover causes irrigant fluid to be ejected from the clean chamber and release of the cover causes used irrigant to be vacuumed into the waste chamber. The device can be selectively switchable between an irrigation-vacuum mode, an irrigation-only mode and a vacuum-only mode.

The processor may examine the multiple procedures for timing conflicts and it may adjust the sequence of steps for the procedures, the timing of steps with a specified range of times, or the order of the samples in order to avoid conflicts and to minimize the total time required by the system to complete the procedures. The operator may create or edit templates for workstations, create or edit lists of process steps for procedures, monitor the progress of ongoing procedures, or override the determination of what process steps to perform.

The processor directs the robotic arm to interleave the differing process steps. The processing stations comprise workstations for performing individual steps of the tissue assay procedures, such as solution trays. The processor selects a tissue sample to be moved in response to timing information about the procedures. While the processor is directing the robotic arm to move, the processor monitors progress information and can alter the sequence of process steps in response to the progress information and information from an operator.

A system for performing a plurality of independent analysis procedures simultaneously, each procedure having a sample and at least one process step for operating on that sample the system having a robotic device for moving a sample among a plurality of processing stations where the robotic device comprises substrate to which are coupled a plurality of tiles each one of the tiles disposed at a selected location on the substrate; a plurality of reagent trays coupled to the tiles, each one of the reagent trays having substantially identical shape and size; a robotic arm disposed for reaching substantially all the tiles; and capable of coupling and decoupling from a sample holder, the sample holder capable of holding at least one sample in a selected position, whereby the robotic arm is capable of moving the sample from a first one of the reagent trays to a second one of the reagent trays; and a processor for selecting, at a plurality of times a sample to be moved, and for directing the robotic arm to move the sample to be moved; the processor capable of directing the robotic arm to interleave the process steps of the plurality of independent analysis procedures in a sequence conforming to a predetermined range of durations for each one of the process steps.

System for performing a plurality of independent tissue analysis

A system for performing a plurality of independent analysis procedures simultaneously, each the procedure having a sample and at least one process step for operating on that sample the system having a robotic device for moving sample among a plurality of processing stations where the robotic device comprises substrate to which are coupled a plurality of tiles each one of the tiles disposed art a selected location on the substrate; a plurality of reagent trays coupled to the tiles each one of the reagent trays having substantially identical shape and size; a robotic arm disposed for reaching substantially all the tiles; and comprising means for coupling and decoupling from a sample holder, the sample holder having a means for holding at least one sample in a selected position, whereby the robotic arm is capable of moving the sample from a first one of the reagent trays to a second one of the reagent trays; and a processor for selecting, at a plurality of times a sample to be moved, and for directing the robotic arm to move the sample to be moved; the processor having means for directing the robotic arm to interleave the process steps of the plurality of independent analysis procedures in a sequence conforming to a predetermined range of durations for each one of the process steps.
