An elevator lantern apparatus uses a snap-fit assembly and disassembly configuration where the lantern apparatus includes components such as a tray, a lens, and a control board having one or more illuminating features. These components are configured to assemble through an opening in a surface such as a wall. In some versions, assembly and disassembly is done without the use of tools. In some versions, disassembly of the lantern apparatus is done from the front side of the lantern apparatus by removing the lens to access other components.

Snap-fit elevator lanterns

A respiratory suction catheter assembly includes a manifold supporting a rotatable swivel member for engagement with an endotracheal tube, and a seal support body disposed on a boss of the manifold opposite the part supporting the swivel for supporting a catheter tube seal and a porous filter for filtering air flowing into and out of a flexible elongated sheath enclosing the catheter tube. The sheath includes opposed tapered ends secured to the seal support body and to a boss on a suction control valve housing. The valve housing supports a tapered plug closure member engageable with a resilient actuator and a slide-lock member. Certain components, including the sheath, the seal support body, the filter, the catheter tube seal and the catheter tube may be treated with an anti-microbial agent.

Suction catheter assembly

A suction catheter assembly, particularly adapted for neonatal use includes a distal manifold body including a rotatable connector for connection to an endotracheal tube, a ventilating port member and an ancillary catheter receiving port member. The manifold body is rotatably joined to a catheter tube seal housing. The seal housing includes an irrigation port member. A catheter tube wiper seal and a filter member are disposed in the seal housing which is joined to a suction control valve assembly by an elongated flexible sheath defining an enclosed space through which the catheter tube extends between the valve assembly and the manifold. A resilient closure member actuator and slide lock member are engageable with a closure member of the valve assembly.

Neonate suction catheter assembly

An ink cartridge has a body having a stepped configuration including a first top wall and a second top wall, wherein the second top wall is lower than the first top wall. A lid has a first position selectively secured to the first top wall and a second portion is secured to the second top wall which forms a ledge for removing the cartridge from a printer. Alternately, a tab extends from a surface of the lid for removing the cartridge from a printhead. Another alternative is indentations formed in the lid and side walls of the cartridge for manually gripping the cartridge for removal from a printhead.

Ink-jet cartridge removal device

An ink jet cartridge comprising a housing having a print head portion including a nozzle plate having opposed pairs of side edges, rows of nozzles and at least one row of slots between said rows of nozzles and which plate is initially attached to the head portion by beads of an adhesive material overlying the edges of one pair of the opposed pairs of side edges is prepared for renovation by applying a reinforcing bead of an adhesive material to overlie at least one of the other pair of the opposed pairs of side edges and the at least one row of slots. The beads may be a single bead or segmented and are applied by robotic glue applying apparatus.

Renovated ink jet cartridge and method of renovating

A transport protector for protecting an inkjet cartridge wherein the inkjet cartridge includes a cartridge body, an inkwell extending from the cartridge body and a nozzle on the inkwell. The protector including a protector body shaped to receive at least a portion of the inkjet cartridge and including a section to allow UV radiation to penetrate the protector body and cure a UV sensitive material on the inkjet cartridge.

Protector for an inkjet cartridge and method of using the same

A transport protector is provided for an inkjet cartridge wherein the inkjet cartridge includes a cartridge body, an inkwell extending from the cartridge body and a nozzle on the inkwell. The protector includes a protector body having a recess shaped to receive an inkwell of an inkjet cartridge and cover a nozzle of the inkjet cartridge. The protector further including a lid hingedly connected to the body. The lid pivots between an opened condition and a closed condition and engages the inkjet cartridge to evenly urge the cartridge into the recess when in the closed condition. The lid also includes a lid lock for releasably engaging the protector body to maintain the protector in the closed condition.

Transport protector for an inkjet cartridge

An ink tank cartridge includes a housing having a chamber in which ink is stored. A screen is secured to a surface of the housing through which an outlet passage communicates with the chamber. The screen is fused to the first surface by melting a continuous portion or bead around the outlet passage with a heated ram, ultrasonic welding, laser welding, etc. A vacuum can be applied through the outlet port to assist in locating and removing wrinkles from the screen. A recess can also be provided in the first surface of the housing to locate the screen and allow the ink absorbing member, filled with ink, to form a liquid-tight seal with the remainder of the first surface about the recess.

Fused filter screen for use in ink jet cartridge and method of assembling same

An ink tank cartridge includes a housing having a chamber defined by a set of side walls, a lid, and a first surface. An outlet port is formed in the first surface for communicating ink from the chamber. An ink receiving member for holding the ink is received in the chamber and is held in compression between the side walls. A substantial portion of the surface of the ink receiving member is compressed, preferably more than &#x2153;of the total surface. The ink receiving member is held uncompressed between the lid and the first surface. A method of assembling an ink cartridge includes providing a housing and a porous ink storage element. The ink storage element is compressed by a set of side walls defining a chamber formed in the housing. The ink storage element is compressed within a range of about 0.5%-50%.

A method of filling ink into a dual chamber ink-jet cartridge for use with an ink-jet printer includes applying a vacuum to the cartridge through a fill hole of the cartridge to substantially eliminate air within an ink absorbing member of the cartridge. The fill hole is sealed and then ink is pressure filled into the cartridge through the fill hole. A vacuum is again applied to the cartridge to substantially eliminate any residual air in the cartridge due to the pressure filling of the ink. The fill hole may be positioned over a free ink chamber or over the ink absorbing member of the cartridge. The vacuum includes applying a negative pressure of about 27.5 in/Hg. The negative pressure is applied at a cycle rate of 5-30 seconds.

Pressurized ink filling method for dual compartment ink-jet cartridge used in ink-jet printer

An aperture provided in a bottom wall of an ink cartridge is designed to break the surface tension of the ink as the ink proceeds toward an outlet port. For example, serrated edges, tapering conformations, cruciform dividing walls, different diameter regions in the outlet passage, etc. are all designed to prevent the formation of large bubbles or preclude the migration of air bubbles to the region of the outlet passage where the print needle of an associated printer extends.

An ink tank cartridge includes a housing with a bottom wall and a plurality of side walls forming a cavity. An ink supply member having a port extends from the housing. A seal member is inserted into the ink supply member for sealing the port. A retaining capis used to hold the seal member in place. The retaining cap has an opening to provide access to the seal member. An ink supply needle passes through the cap opening to pierce the seam member. The retaining cap has slots to receive ribs located on the outlet port.

Mechanical seal cap for ink-cartridge

An ink tank cartridge for an ink-jet type recording apparatus includes a housing with a plurality of walls forming a cavity and a bottom wall. A removable divider wall or spacer is inserted into the cavity which divides the cavity into first and second chambers. The spacer includes a wall section and a pair of legs extending from the wall which are spaced apart and are parallel to each other. The spacer is substantially U-shaped where the U-shape is formed by the legs and the wall section. A porous member is inserted into one of the chambers and resiliently abuts an opening of the supply port. The other chamber is at least partially filled with ink. The spacer has an opening to allow the ink to pass from the ink chamber to the foam chamber. The spacer is inserted into the chamber so that the opening is adjacent the bottom wall of the housing.
