An injector such as a needle-type autoinjector having a flexible flange disposed at an injection end of the injector for stretching or pinching the skin of the injection site. The flexible flange may be removably attached to the injector or integrated into the injector during manufacturing. Further, an injector having a palm button disposed at an activation end of the injector for activating an injection cycle of the injector. The palm button may be removably attached to the injector or integrated into the injector during manufacturing. Still further, a holding device for one-handed operation of an injector, the holding device having a sleeve and at least one hand rest coupled to the sleeve, the sleeve and hand rest providing ergonomic holding and operation of the injector. Still further, autoinjector needle shield having an enlarged, rounded lip for contacting the skin at the injection site.

Autoinjector

A drug delivery device includes a blunt cannula and a reservoir. The blunt cannula has a cylindrical wall that defines an axial passage between a first end and a second end of the blunt cannula. The wall has at least a first tapered region at the first end to define an opening in fluid communication with the axial passage and adapted at the first end to resist interruption of fluid flow through the axial passage and out of the first end of the blunt cannula. The reservoir is connected to the second end of the blunt cannula.

Drug delivery device

An injector for delivering a therapeutic product may include a base having a flexible surface that conforms to various body contours of a patient and defines one or more an injection chambers. The injector may have a height that is substantially less than its width, thereby defining a low profile, which provides a larger more stable base that can pinch or stretch the skin in a controlled manner. The larger base can also accommodate larger volumes via multiple injection chambers and/or large combined primary containers.

A drug delivery system includes a reservoir and a drug delivery device coupled to the reservoir. The drug delivery device also may include at least one temperature-sensitive component and a lock having locked and unlocked states. The system further includes an output device, and a controller coupled to the lock and the output device. The controller may also include a temperature sensor, or may be coupled to the temperature sensor. The controller is programmed or configured to determine if the temperature of a drug in the reservoir or of the temperature-sensitive component exceeds an upper limit or is below a lower limit, and to activate the lock in either event. The controller is also programmed or configured to determine, directly or indirectly, if the temperature subsequently is between the upper and lower limits, and to unlock lock as a consequence.

A drug delivery device () includes a base () having a first region () with a drug delivery assembly () associated therewith. The drug delivery device also includes an antenna () disposed in the first region to radiate an electromagnetic field, the base defining a plane () and the antenna disposed in the plane of the base, and an electromagnetic field generator () selectively coupled to the antenna.

A trocar assembly includes a trocar housing that defines a working chamber, and a cannula coupled to the trocar housing at a proximal end to facilitate communication between the cannula and the working chamber. A tool stabilizing device is coupled to at least one of the trocar housing and the cannula and is actuatable to stabilize and center a surgical tool within the cannula.

A trocar assembly includes a trocar housing that defines a working chamber, and a cannula having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the cannula is coupled to the trocar housing at the proximal end to facilitate communication between the cannula and the working chamber. A radial support assembly is arranged at or near the distal end and includes a plurality of radial support members that extend radially inward toward a centerline of the cannula to center a surgical tool within the cannula and thereby minimize unintended oscillation and vibration of the surgical tool.
